Reviews for Quadratec 4 Bike Folding Bike Rack for 2" Receiver Hitch
We loaded 3 full sized (2 full suspension) mountain bikes on this and travelled from the northern Adirondacks to Wind Rock Park in Tennessee and back with no problems at all. I do recommend the Y-Frame Adapter Bar for the full suspension bikes for a smoother fit and safer load. This product was perfect on our 2017 Wrangler Sport, with plenty of spare tire clearance. The rack was incredibly easy to set up and load, and I am grateful that I found it for our trip. Very sturdy, very smooth adjustment of parts. 10/10 recommend to a friend!
After searching and researching hitch mounted bike racks for several weeks I was resigned to spending $500 for a 3 star user rated rack from one of a variety of bike shops, outdoor retailers and sporting good companies. Not sure why it took me so long to land at Quadratec but boy am I glad I did!
This rack is SOLID. It took me under 30 minutes to unpack and install. Love how the matte black finish looks with the rest of my accessories. When lowered the gate swings all the way open with full clearance.
But most importantly three things.
1-that the rack arms are not too wide. My last wheel mounted rack was so wide, kids bikes wouldn’t fit on it. Great call on the dimensions.
2-that the bike cradles can move around the arms and up and down the arms. No more cramming bikes so close to each other they bump and scrape against each other.
3-we’ve all suffered the bike rack that wobbles like a bobblehead on your dash. When properly installed this thing is an extension of the vehicle frame it seems. Try to move the rack and watch your vehicle bounce up and down. Amazing!
For under $150 delivered this has to be the best constructed, most thoughtfully designed, highest quality bike rack on the market.
I Love this product, I can swing my rear gate wide open after allowing rack to drop away. My only request I would like to be able to purchase the two bike head and I could bolt the four or two bike head on and off as needed. Otherwise this is an AWESOME Product. it holds the Bikes SOLID and in place.
2015 Rubicon JK. Received quickly. Straightforward directions. Installed easily. Back door swings past the carrier when it's folded down. Hitch bolt and anti wobble screw make it solid. Extremely pleased with my purchase.
Excellent fit for JL! After searching the usual brands (Thule, Yakima, Rhino Rack), I was a bit concerned I was out of luck finding something that would clear the spare tire on our JL. We even tried the Thule Apex and Parkway but both were an inch+ too short. The Quadratec rack feels very sturdy, even more than one of the Thules. Assembly was easy and the tilt allows the hatch to open completely. As previously mentions, the bolt pin is 1/2" instead of 5/8". The pin uses a locking nut and washer which is torqued down and seems to be pretty solid. We haven't had any issues with excessive bouncing or shifting while on the back.
Hello everyone, I do recommend buying this rack for your Jeep Wrangler, I was searching for bike racks about couple of months and I couldn't find anything better than this one for your car, quality is good assembly is easy, the only issue is it is a little bit heavy but it will work perfectly with your spare tire.
This is an excellent carrier. I was a bit skeptical because of the lowish price, but this receiver hitch bike carrier is extremely well made. I am not exagerating. It is heavy, when compared to aluminum or budget steel, but it will never fail. It is simple to use and holds my bikes very securely. It is designed to stay mounted long-term because the hitch pin screws in and uses a lock washer to securely tighten it down. This design also prevents carrier from moving around and rattling which means the bikes don’t move at all. The welds and finish are perfect. The rubber straps are thick and hold firmly. The web strap is thick and has a nice squeeze clamp. The kit also has a security cable and a locking hitch pin, which makes the price unbelievable. No one can steal it! I have 33’s and a DV8 bumper with a receiver. The tailgate does open when the rack is tilted down; but just barely. If I had bigger tires, the gate would not pass over rack. When compared to high-end aluminum racks, this is a bargain. Yes it’s heavy, but it’s half the cost of comparable aluminum brands; and since it’s designed to stay on, weight doesn’t matter.
fit was perfect. I have a 35" spare that I was concerned about the clearance, the rack fit perfect with no issue and no need for additional modifications.
Awsome product and totally worth the $$. Bikes fit nicely and the quality is great. Super easy to fold down, love the ease of getting in the back when bikes are not on the rack. Arrived quickly and very easy to install. You need a hitch of course, but jeep makes it VERY easy to install one of those if you have a socket set, torque wrench and half a brain. Would highly recommend this product!
Great buy for the Jeep. Now I can take the family out for rides and not bring two cars. Certainly a better value than Thule or Yakama. Functional and easy to store for the winter months as well.
