Reviews for Quadratec 4 Bike Folding Bike Rack for 2" Receiver Hitch
I am very happy with this purchase. I spent months researching something that would fit my needs and budget. The quality exceeded my expectations. It's a little heavy, but I attribute that to the quality. I only mention this because I plan on taking mine on and off frequently. I have only loaded two bikes on it, as that is the most I will take out. Once on the rack and strapped in, I have no concerns. My biggest concern was the backup camera being blocked, but I mostly use my mirrors any way.
Made for Jeep, extra length
PERFECT DESIGN
Excellent rack. I've been driving Wranglers for 20 years and have had a LOT of different bike racks and bikes. This is easily the best one so far. It's super sturdy, everything tightens up so there is no rack wobble and rattle. And unlike most Yakima and Thule racks it isn't made mostly of plastic so I have no doubt it'll be durable and last a long time. The best part is that it clears my tires (33's) easily, with plenty of room to open the rear gate when the rack is folded down. And with it in the vertical position with the crossbar arm down it's really slim. I was unsure how well the crossbar would hold my square-framed mountain bike, but it fits like a glove into the holders. You'll definitely want to use the tie-down strap so the bottom of the bikes don't wobble, but everything else is so fast that one strap is easy. Get it with the bundled security cable+lock. With that, it's perfect.
Heavy duty and perfect for our needs! It fits well and the fold down feature allows the tailgate to open when needed. Definitely recommended!
Built specifically for the Jeep Wrangler
This thing is heavy! I'm so glad I bought this one and not a cheap one. Made for Wranglers and no hitch extender needed. I have a 305x70x17 (34) tire and it clears it with no issue. I was able to open the tail gate with and without the bike, obviously only one bike. I'll be honest, not sure if it will fit 4 bikes unless we play with the positioning, but I won't know as I only have the 2 kids bikes, for now. The wife is already asking to get some for us. I wasn't happy that I could not use my hitch lock because you have to use the bolt/pin included. It's nice and tight, but if someone really wanted to take the entire unit, they could just remove the bolt. I just ordered the one from Quadratec offered that fits this rack, but I had to pay extra! For the cost, the lock should have been included. Overall, this bike looks good and seems to be of quality and hopefully lasts me a long time. Worth the extra money just for the fact I can open the tail gate without having to remove the bikes or rack.
That I can take all 4 family bikes with minor effort.
Folds down to get into back
