Not everyone who owns a Jeep loves soft tops. Yes, a huge number of soft top Jeeps are sold each year because many believe these tops have so much more versatility, but truth is, hardtops today have quite a bit of versatility as well. Many come with removable panels that are easy to work with and open up the cab, while improvements in top removal and storage makes owning one these days not so much of a, er, hard choice. Even if you already own a hardtop, there are a whole wealth of accessory and replacement parts available to choose from to fix up or improve your top.

Hardtops provide several exceptional features that soft tops just can't match. For one, the top's fiberglass construction gives it just about a forever lifespan. Also, hardtops do not tear, suffer stitching problems or have zipper issues, and their glass windows hold up much better than plastic ones. Plus, the top's hard shell won't allow a knife to cut it like soft top material so security is far greater as well as noise reduction. You may even get an insurance break by sporting a hardtop. Depending on your Jeep's year, there are one, two, and even three-piece hardtop options which allow you to remove just parts of the top—instead of the whole thing—if you want to open up for the day, week, or even the entire summer.

When it comes to full-on top removal, the process does not have be a two-person job any longer. Not with the hoist options out there that help you lift off—and even store—your top whenever you want. Quick removal kits can even speed this process and help make it on-par with the time it takes most people to disengage and recline their soft top. Storage products like hard top carts and panel bags also make it easy to remove and safely put away those pieces until you are ready to reattach. Other accessories like seals, panel insulation, glass, wiring, and hinges, can help you refresh and revitalize those tops that are a bit older.
