Reviews for Quadratec Adventure Mirrors with Square Head for 76-24 Jeep Wrangler JL, JK, TJ, YJ, CJ & Gladiator JT
Well they look really good when sitting still. First off the paint on the threads is to thick and caused the nut to cross thread right of the bat. Luckily I have a grinder and was able to fix the problem. Second, the rods are to small in diameter to fit securely into the top door hinge of a JK. Third, they vibrate like crazy with every bump and start to fold in with any speed over 40mph. If you want a cheap set mirrors that look good sitting still, this is what you are looking for. If you want a good set of mirrors to use with doors off, look somewhere else. I wound is Quadratec will take these back?
Not happy with the mirrors. Couldn't wait to mount and take a ride . Vibration and mirror movement a big problem even with my constant tightening of the nuts. Don't know how far I can adjust without causing damage to the mirrors or more so to my new 2018 Wrangler. At this point, without any advice of solving this issue, you're getting these back. Another issue my wife reminded me of at speeds of 45 and above, the mirrors cause a whistling sound with the air movement around them. Can only turn the radio up so much!
This is my second set. My first set worked well for two years. after the second year, I had to tighten the bolt hard to keep this from moving (it would spin freely). Unfortunately, I had to tighten so much that I went beyond the threading. I added a few washers to compensate and reset the mirror. Even when this is tight, the mirrors fold in above 50mph, regardless of how tight it is. They also vibrate so bad that it's not even worth using.
Not tight enough against the wind, constant shaking, don't trust them when changing lanes.
Mounting bracket/nylon nut stripped at halfway point when fastening. Bracket is permanently loose, and mirror dangles freely in the wind. Consequently, I cannot remove bracket from the door hinge. Will have to pay someone to cut bracket without damaging vehicle. I am pissed!!!!!! Will add picture later today.
Absolutely one of the worst products i have ever purchase. You can not tighten these things enough to keep them from blowing inward at highway speeds. They vibrate so much you really cannot tell what is coming up on you anyway (very dangerous). Also, since these are attached on the door hinge you have to pull them off every time you want to put your doors back on. do yourself a huge favor and buy a good quality set of mirrors that mount on a windshield frame bracket and the mirrors and arms can be removed via a thumb turn screw. You have very little distortion from vibration on these.
Can't seem to get the mirror tight enough to stay in one position. When traveling 50+ MPH, the mirror moves and is useless.
they vibrate bad. you might be able to tell there is a car behind you but it shakes so bad you cant tell if its a truck or a car or what.
The bolt edges rusted overnight. The bolts will not tighten down enough to prevent the mirrors from blowing into the jeep doors at about 35mph. Sorry a bought this junk.
Mirrors look decent, but vibrate terribly. So much so, it is hard to see out of them. I would not purchase again.
