Reviews for Quadratec Adventure Mirrors with Square Head for 76-24 Jeep Wrangler JL, JK, TJ, YJ, CJ & Gladiator JT
Wish they didn’t squeak when driving down road but they fit perfect and work out great for when doors are off.
It is what it is, but the reason for the three stars is because with a little extra effort they could have made these much better. Add a thicker washer so it doesn’t warp when you tighten it down. Because you can’t tighten it all the way they move at higher speeds, but all I wanted was to have mirrors so I didn’t have issues and be pulled over. Works for the purpose.
These mirrors get the job done. That being said, they do have a tendency to fold back in once you go above 45-55 MPH. They do tend to vibrate a bit at speed but that doesn't bother me as much as long as I can see what's behind me...Overall, a decent buy, but a little on the pricey side for what you get in my opinion.
Well built but then tend to move inward no matter how much you tighten them. Will probably weld an old Allen wrench to the post so it can brace against the door hinge plate.
Easy to install. Looks good on my jeep. Only con is the whistle sound once you get up to speed.
Like most others, the mirrors flop. I developed a work around that fixed the flipping. I bought a small aluminum rod and sprayed it with tool dip so it wouldn’t scratch the paint. I used three black cable ties to extend the 5” rod from the horizontal bar on the mirror. The rod rests on the door frame and prevents the mirrors from folding in even a highway speed. Aesthetically, you don’t notice. For the price of the mirrors it seemed like an okay work around. That way I don’t have to tighten the bolts too tight either.
Kinda flop around but serve the purpose
These vibrate really badly when driving or even sitting at a light. You really have to tighten them down or they'll fold in at speed. They're probably more useful to keep you from getting a ticket in a state that requires them when your doors are off than they are as actual safety/situation awareness equipment.
Pros: Somewhat easy to attach, one piece, adjusts easily, works nicely, looks good.
Cons: Whistles like a teapot above 40 mph. Also the washers can be a bit clumsy since there's 4 per mirror, 2 above and 2 below the hinge. That plus the nut means I have to catch 3 things when I take the mirror off on each side.
They do the job, however at speeds above 15 miles an hour they rotate in. Great for staying legal, but not usable. I'll be looking to upgrade to something different.
