Reviews for Rugged Ridge Aluminum Hood Catch for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK

The OEM hood catches work, but allow the JK hood to float, which can easily be seen at speeds of 50 mph or higher. It bothered me enough to purchase these Rugged Ridge Hood Catches which solve the problem. No more hood floating. Now, a word of advice when switching out the OEM Hood Catches for these Rugged Ridge Hood Catches, the reuse of rubber pieces from the OEM is required. Recommend using two sided tape to ensure that these rubber pieces are securely anchored in place when the Rugged Ridge Hood Catches are installed, otherwise, these rubber pieces will disappear.

First product I installed on my 2013 Wrangler Sport. Easy to install, less than an hour total for both sides with adjustment. After one year they still look like new. No more hood flutter! Great product!

Straight forward install. Adjustment for good fit was easy. No more hood flutter on the highway. Pricey for what they are so they got 4 stars. If they more reasonably priced would have given 5 Stars.

Install can be a bit tricky. Use you 4-year old to reach in to the tight spaces and you might see it go easier. I dropped a nut and washer, but miraculously, the old one fit in its place.

Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is due to the difficulty of the install. I had to contort my hands in ways they weren’t meant to. A good tip is to put a piece of tape over the nut to hold it in place while trying to get everything lined up. Once it was finished it looks great and I haven’t had ‘hood flap’ since!

A bit of a pain to install, but they look great. Much better than the faded plastic OEM latches.
