Reviews for Rugged Ridge Aluminum Hood Catch for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK

I originally planned on buying this piece of kit primarily for cosmetic reasons, and it was a ways down the list in terms of importance. Then, however, on a long drive I encountered 30mph headwinds as I drove at 70mph and watched as the hood fluttered and bounced with at least an inch of play. It was awful and nerve-wracking. I ordered these latches as soon as I arrived at my destination. A few road trips in and I can say that they're great! No more hood flutter whatsoever. It helps that they look real good too. The fact that they are entirely adjustable is nice, and while I can't speak to their longevity just yet, Rugged Ridge did a good job designing this product.

Love these hood latches. They are definitely beefier than the OEM latches. Very well made. They aren't that hard to install if you remove your grill. Total installation took about 30 minutes tops.

These hood latches not only look fantastic, but perform brilliantly. I own a Black 2014 Jeep Wrangler 2Dr JK. These (Black) latches are heavy duty and made very well. I used basic hand tools - socket wrenches, allen wrenches to install. It's a bit tricky to attach the passenger side bottom mount because it's challenging to reach the bolts. I removed the front grill and that made it easier. Take your time. It's worth it. We recently had 50+ mph winds and nary a flutter did I see or feel from the hood driving at 65 mph. GREAT product!!

Great hood latches!!!! These things are very heavy duty and look amazing. Easy install with proper tools.

The passenger side was a little bit of a pain. I took out the aircleaner box and a couple of brackets to get the bolt on the backside of the pivot latch. Driver side did not require any removal. I have a picture posted. They look pretty cool. I am sure there is some functionality benefit, but where's the fun in that?

They look great... very heavy duty kinda feel.. easy too install.
