It works. And was easy to assemble with the video. I wish it was slightly cheaper for what it is. I do think it does the job. If I could, I would make it so the clip which goes onto the surrounding area is stationary instead of moving because it wraps around the gas cap and is slightly annoying.

Highly recommended. Used Quadratec video to key this lock. Have had no issues and this is my second JL and second locking gas cap.

good . not as hard to put togther as it seamed. only problem i have is the lanyard wont hold cap to jeep as it is.

The instructional video was extremely helpful, a must. A suggestion would be that the key turn counter clockwise - the same way the gas cap unscrews, to unlock the gas cap. As is, it needs a clockwise turn to unlock, then a counterclockwise turn to unscrew.
I found it somewhat difficult to get two of the tumblers to be flush with the lock cylinder as the video suggested. What worked for me was to use the tumblers that were closest to being flush with the lock cylinder with the key fully inserted.

This is a must have accessory for your JL or JT. The keying was pretty easy with help from an instructional YouTube video. Thanks for that video, Quadratec. Only request would be that the key unlocked with a counter clockwise turn - the same way the gas cap unscrews. As is, it needs a clockwise turn to unlock, then a counterclockwise turn to unscrew, so it’s a bit awkward and pretty much needs 2 hands.

It was easy to key it to my vehicle key, but it is also easy to remove the cap from the vehicle without unlocking it.
