Reviews for Mopar Locking Gas Cap for 18-23 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
Works perfectly on the 2020 Gladiator. The video was spot on. I also installed on my 2018 JL Sahara with no issues.
Would'nt have tried this without video. Very easy, took a total of 15 minutes.
I really like the fact that you can use your oem key! There’s no need for extra keys on my key ring. Does the job with no complaint. Take your time when coding it yourself, totally doable.
Great product but even better YouTube video. I had it done and installed in about 20 minutes! Thank you Quadratec!
I found the video very helpful on how to install the gas cap because if you do buy this product it does not come with instructions on how to assemble it and it does take time to do and you do need space to lay out all the parts if you chose to do this yourself. I would recommend this product to any Jeep owner. Watch the video first and if you feel as if you can not do it probably take it to a dealership or to someone who can do it but any beginner can do it.
Excellent product - great quality and I chose to have a locksmith key the lock to my Jeep for $20. Worth the cost. Much better than the product that comes with a separate key.
WATCH THE VIDEO! Mopar does not send instructions with the gas cap so if you want to key this yourself Quadratec has an excellent how to video. I enjoyed the jigsaw puzzle this provided and took me about fifteen minutes to put it together. Of course I tried it out about twenty times before put it on my JL Rubi just to make sure I did it right. Nice to have it keyed to the giant fob but for 50 bucks less maybe you can put up with an extra key on your ring. You decide. That's what owning a Jeep is about.
Quality product. Either go to your dealer to have lock programed for a $200, or watch video and plan two hours to key lock yourself. I watched video and did it myself. Not complicated if you EXACTLY follow video.
Follow the video you will be ok the biggest thing is to remember the shims have to be flush on the top and bottom when your testing them
Watch the instructional video, then watch it again at the same time as you manually fit your key…you should have no problems (take your time) …my lock is keyed and works perfectly. Thank you for the detailed video… Clint S. BC, Canada
