Great product, very solid and heavy steel. My key coded easily on the first try and now the lock opens smoothly each time.

Hardest part is getting those beefy 1/4" rivets in. You need a heavy-duty rivet gun to use with the 1/4" rivets; most do not work with rivets that large. I picked up mine from Harbor Freight for $14. Those rivets require a lot of force to pop, so find a position to hold the rivet gun that gives you good leverage.

Other than that, lock BOLTed in perfectly and is in there very snug. Some complain these can be defeated by reaching up behind the grill and pushing the lock out of the way; not sure how that's possible, there's virtually no room to get a hand/fingers behind there. Either way, I purchased the T-Rex Mess Grille with lock cutout, so this isn't an issue for me regardless.

Relatively easy install. I say "relatively" because it took me forever to get the rivets in place (10-15 squeezes with the Astro rivet gun I got on Amazon). However, that's an issue with the riveter not the lock. One note - I've heard that some people just buy some appropriately sized bolts and nuts instead of using the supplied rivets. May be worth considering. Apart from that, it goes on super easy and lines up perfectly. The instructions say to remove a hose clamp but I was able to just reposition the hose enough to get the rivets through. I had no problems keying the lock for my key - took all of 5 seconds.

Fits and looks great. Will work with grill inserts with minor modification of center insert. Keeps hood tight

Easy install. No surprises. The Harbor Freight rivet tool or equal is a must. Other reviews I have read say you could reach behind the lock and undo it. Not in my case. There's an auxiliary cooler mounted in front of the radiator that makes it impossible. Maybe associated with the tow package or auto trans. Also, you don't need to leave the key in the lock while you're working under the hood. Unlock, prop the hood open and return the key to lock position and remove. When you're done, lower the hood and the latch will spring to the side and catch under the Bolt Lock.

Simple to install. This is a must for any Jeep owner.

Works great! very easy to install, only takes minutes. Also gives added security that the wind when driving cannot lift the hood.
