Reviews for Mountain Off-Road DPJL18DS Driver Side Dead Pedal for 18-21 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
As someone who loves the M.O.R.E. JK Dead Pedal, this JL version is pure garbage. First it is not bolt-on for 2024s, the panel you bolt this too in your driver's footwell does not have the holes predrilled anymore. and then the brake pedal interferes with lining up your drill properly. You have to be a contortionist to even mark the holes to drill and no way to swing a hammer to dimple the mark. Others have already commented on even trying to mount it. Returning immediately. Wholly disappointed M.O.R.E. would even offer this product, such a stark contrast from their JK dead pedal. Please do better.
Horrible design unless you have the hands of a 3 year old. You can’t install this if you are full size adult.
Worst product I have bought for my Jeep. Difficult to install. Did not come with the right size washer. Can’t figure out best foot position until after install. Required removing trim under location to gain access. If I could get it off the Jeep I would return it.
2021 Willys. When going to marry the pedal to the mouthing bracket, there is no way to prevent the bracket from falling out between the fender and the interior. other videos i saw show a hold in the jeep mount point to zip strip the mount bracket to the mount point, but by willys does not have that hold. So when you go to put the pedal to the bracket the bracket starts to push out of the mount point. Called it quits before something falls down into the deep and rattles forever. on to different style from a different manufacture.
I have it installed and it works well as a Dead Pedal. But the installation process and quality of pedal itself it horrendous. I had to bore the hole myself because it was not drilled correctly from the factory. I was originally going to return it, but learned that return shipping cost is not covered.
So I smoothed out the bumps that prevents the angled washer from fitting in properly.
Once I finally fixed the hardware that the factory did not manufacture properly, it was a difficult install because they expect you to have circus arms to hold the pedal in place and the back support bracket.
My solution is that you have to tie the back plate to the metal wall and then screw the pedal in. Before being fully tightened, untie the string then tighten.
Also, have a magnet handy in case the back plate bracket falls during your human origami attempts.
Worst product ever purchased from Quadratec! I tried all the advice offered here and still could not get the pins on the bracket lined up properly with the mounting holes on the pedal. Sending back immediately.
way to hard to get to the holes to align the bracket and the pedal. After hours of trying the bracket fell behind the wall so, I don't even know how to get about retrieving it.
