Reviews for Mountain Off-Road DPJL18DS Driver Side Dead Pedal for 18-21 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
Like most others, I dropped the nuts and had to dig them out, but that's part of the process. Very well made, finish is great (even if you can't see it after installation).
I was really surprised at the difference in leg stress with the pedal. Really comfortable, more relaxed leg, and still enough room to stretch way out if you want by just shifting your foot a little. Note for installation. There is a rib on the backside of the factory bracket, so the pedal cross piece doesn't lay flat, it will rock a little, and be aware there are wires running back there, careful not to trap them in a pinch point. I had to loosen everything and move the wires.
best thing I ever installed! product is very sturdy and well made. installation was a breeze.highly recommend
In all, it took about an hour to put this pedal in. The hardest part is tightening the bolts that secure the bracket to the vehicle. I wanted the pedal to feel secure to the vehicle, meaning no rattling or obvious looseness. Using a ratchet made it reasonably effortless, yet provided the potential of shearing the bolt off the bracket; hence, I would use caution when tightening these nuts. I would also recommend that M.O.R.E. provide bolt torque specifications. Other tools used, blue tape to hold washers in place until bolt was threaded.
Heavy duty quality pedal but installation was frustrating. Very tight space to work in. I used duct tape to hold the back plate in place until I could manage to get one and the other screw though the holes. Good instructions and a high quality pedal.
Solid pedal, feels like it will take on anything and not even flinch. Installation is a breeze and I am probably the least handy person to write a review. Now the difference between me and the other reviewers that are handy is that I am 5’5 and thin. The installation is a breeze, the spaces are just tight. Just be sure you assemble the pedal solidly before mounting. I used a zip tie to hold the mounting bar and then placed washers and tightened screws by hand. Then used a small socket wrench to tighten. Very happy with the purchase highly recommend. For the big guys, maybe enlist your kids to help out with the installation. Good learning plus bonding experience. Cheers.
A well made nice looking dead pedal. Do not know why jeep did not make this stock on the JL, along with the digital lights. I also had to drill my holes larger to make them fit the mounting bracket plate. No biggy . Removing the plastic kick plate below the steering wheel helps you see it all much better during the install. I live in Daytona Beach Florida, it is September and my shirt was soaked with sweat by the time I was through. Good times.
I'm used to having something to rest my foot on next to the pedals and was surprised just how much space is down there on the JL. This was a great addition and comfortable footrest. Easy to install. Helpful to have a cordless drill around for tightening it down or a small socket wrench. I'm 5'7 and I used the smallest size setting putting it closest to the passenger seat.
Received this over the weekend, installed and it is working great.
Already received this direct from manufacturer when they first released it.Although I don't have my new JL yet so can't speak to having it installed, the product is clearly well-made a great quality-much nicer than the JK version in my opinion.
It's not that difficult to install than some of the reviews say. It's not easy but with patience and planning it's 20 mins job.
The build quality is solid and it's very sturdy when installed.
It fits my 2023 Rubicon 4xe perfectly.
The only concern or rather feedback I have is the pedal look and feel. It's not matching with rest of the pedals hence it looks after market. I prefer stock look so it's personal choice.
The length is purposely kept short so that it doesn't touch the mat. But it's little short for resting my foot.
I hope the edges will not hurt me anytime.
