Reviews for AccuPart Delrin Replacement Door Hinge Bushings for 93-06 Jeep Wrangler YJ and TJ
Perfect replacement for the rusted out stock hinge bushings. These are very easy to install. The hardest part was thoroughly removing the rust, grit and grime from the hinge opening until there was clean metal. I highly recommend them if your doors are getting slightly loose or you see rust forming at the top of the hinge slot.
These were so easy to install. My old bushings really were not all that bad.
Anyways, I hope these last a lifetime.
Hope to work good.
replaced the old ones
The toughest part of the job was cleaning out the old bushings. They were rusted solid and had to be drilled and filed out. One of the new bushings was not the same size as the other 3. I had to drill it out, which probably made it weaker, in order to get it to fit over the door hinge pin. I tested the other bushings on the pins, no problem. But is one was clearly smaller diameter and I checked it with a drill bit. Of course it was the last one I had to install.
Arrived quickly with bushings, locks and door pin guides for an 04 TJ.
Directions were clear. Original lower bushings required more effort to remove, but they eventually came out. Top hinges required little effort, and minimal cleanup.
An additional strip of Emory would have been nice, but the round steel brush pictured in the 94-99 kit would have been even better for the bottom hinges. It seems the rust was on both the outside of the original bushing, and the inside of the hinge. I used my own rolled Emory paper to clean out the inner aspect of the lower hinges, which allowed the new bushings to slide in easier. Top hinges dropped right in with out much effort.
Door pin guide made the door dance much easier, and the door pin locks will make it harder for someone with out the key to remove the doors.
Satisfied with all components.
Well, they look a lot better than stock and will definitely last longer, but I still had to work the doors out of the hinges quite a bit before they would come off (even after a ton of sanding). Sprayed some polylube in the hinges and haven’t had any more problem taking them off since.
They fit the pin, although unfortunately they don’t fit snuggly in the lower door hinge bracket I bought from the Rampage products
Install is difficult, I had to chisel out the old bushings. Expensive for what you get but they do help the doors open/close smoothly.
Don't get these unless you really have to.
