Reviews for AccuPart Delrin Replacement Door Hinge Bushings for 93-06 Jeep Wrangler YJ and TJ
I already have them on my 2005 LJ. They are great! This set is a Christmas gift for a friend with a 97
Looks like a great upgrade. All fits well, fast shipment.
awesome
Instructions should read: Remove lower door hinges with a T40 torx socket, (make sure to catch the inner mounting plate.) place hinge in large vise with soft jaws. Use a caliper to find the OD of the supplied punch pin. (~.4525") Then verify your 29/64" drill bit is close to that size. Mine was ~.4510. I then took a 27/64" drill bit and slowly drilled through the stock bushing. Then used the 29/64 to drill through it a second time and the factory bushing came right out the top of the hinge. Clean the bore up with the drill bit and a thin brass brush from your gun cleaning kit. Wipe it out with isopropyl alcohol and the new bushing will snap right in with a hard press on the last 1/4 of the bushing. The top bushing pushed out easily enough with a hammer while mounted on the A pillar. Clean those with the brass brush too. For a 22,000 mile jeep that hasn't seen a winter for 14 years the bottom bushings. Would. Not. Come. Out. Guess I'll have to take my full doors off the wall, where they have been hanging for 14 years as well and see if they open/close nicely now.
Parts worked out better than anticipated. Body lines now match up again for a 22 year monster. It is a snug fit so I am afraid of what i will go through when trying to remove the doors..
I like these more than I thought I would. On my 2000 Jeep TJ, the factory bushings were getting quite worn. These Delrin bushings gives a smoothness to the opening and closing of the door that wasn't there before. And now, no more worry about rust.
Perfect product.
Perfect fit, easy install
Been using these for awhile with no issues. Decent replacement if your old bushings are shot. I do recommend using some type of grease in them when installing your doors.
SO much nicer now.
