Reviews for Quadratec Delrin Replacement Door Hinge Bushings for 07-24 Jeep Wrangler JK & JL 4 Door
These work great so far. My biggest issue was due to wherever my Jeep resided before I purchased it there was a lot of corrosion in the hinges and the doors were extremely difficult to remove and I had to drill out at least two of the stock bushings. With these I expect to not have those issues again!
Easy to install. Much better than the factory bushings
Easy instructions, would like to have had one more piece of sandpaper, but I got the job done.
Great product
Did all 4 doors Took less then a hour on my 2012
Doors nice and tight
A+
Perfect. My original bushings (2013 JKUR) were ovalized from lots of corrugated road travel, which was affecting the upper seal at the top of the A pillar (leading to that wonderful puddle that shows up on the floor pan) and creating issues with the door striker. 30minutes of install time and I'm back off the road with solid feeling doors again
These work great. My doors were totally stuck on and hadn't been removed in the 8 years since my Jeep was made, so the factory bushings were destroyed and the pins were a rusty mess. I had to buy a bit more emery cloth to fix all the damage, but now that they're installed they work better than they did when they were new. The included tool and a framing hammer was all I needed to remove my front bushings, but one of the rears had to be crushed with vice grips to get it out- not a problem with the removal tool, just a really ugly bushing. My advice is to buy these before you need them, the installation will be far easier. Take the time to go for a smooth fit without pounding anything together, and your doors will be a joy to remove and install.
This was a bit of a nightmare to deal with on my 2015 4D Rubicon... the crappy aluminum bushings some idiot Jeep engineer specified (really? steel tube and aluminum bearings?) completely seized up and fractured in pieces so the doors would not come off no matter how much penetrating oil and man-handling we applied. Ultimately we had to use a long crow bar with a piece of 2X4 to keep pressure upward (1 guy) while two other guys wiggled the door back and forth... finally got the doors off after an hour of effort. Then, after much hammering with the steel pin punch supplied... the damn aluminum bushings would not come out. We had to drill those out...in order to clear the tube of debris. Unless you are super careful, any of these procedures can dent the body or chip paint. The Delrin bearings went in fine, why the hell didn't Jeep use these in the first place! All I can say to other Jeep owners is... do this sooner rather than later... the moment your doors seem stiff, or you will have a nasty job getting the doors off your car.
It would be REALLY helpful if Quadratec would communicate how stuck these hinges can be if you’ve never had your doors off! I’ve spent HOURS on 2 doors so far! Finally found 1 or 2 YouTube videos that helped a lot. The product is good, but only Installation Level 1 if your doors come off easily. One of the videos recommended against using the punch and drilling out the bushings instead, which I totally agree with!
