Reviews for Quadratec Maximum Duty 3.5" Coil Spring Suspension Lift Kit for 97-06 Wrangler TJ
Price, and includes everything needed
This is the second lift I had installed by the lead mechanic for Pink Jeep Tours out of Sedona Az. Needless to say he knows YJ’s, TJ’s, JK’s and JL’s inside and out. He was very impressed with the kit and the ease of installation and there were no missing parts or glitches with the install. I went with the Hydro Shocks and I’m very pleased with the ride, however, I am going to switch to the Fox 2.0’s in the future. The Jeep has approximately 4.5 inches of lift now and I added a 3/4” front spacer to give it a little extra boost since I will be installing a winch soon. At highway speeds I’m experiencing no drivetrain vibrations with the transfer case drop installed, but will be going with SYE soon. I highly recommend this kit…..
The price and lift
Easy install and no fitment issues. The only problem was the kit was missing one lower control arm. Called and they are going to over night the control arm.
Great lift, great price. Fit my new wheels and 33 inch tires. I had it installed since I don't currently have the equipment to do it myself. Eliminated the death wobble I had. Highly recommend.
Great fit! As with most Jeep upgrades, it takes ALOT to remove the old parts!!!!!
Its a great kit but be sure to get help from a buddy or two and be prepared to "adjust" a few things while your going.
Finished the front over the weekend. The front went up 4inches plus. Was definitely a taller lift then expected. Have 31s and gonna have to move to to 33s or 35s. Looks like there’s plenty of room.
Installed this lift on my 98 TJ. Overall I am happy with the lift. I also added double quick disconnects, and an adjustable front track bar. The lift was easy to install, and seems to be great quality. I went with the Fox 2.0 shocks and I'm very happy with them. Like most have stated, the 4wd shift linkage was a bit of an issue. On my first outing I found that I had lost 4Lo. However, I did find an easy solution that did not require purchasing more parts. Remove the factory linkage. It can be popped off using a large flat head screwdriver. Its basically a rod with a square metal block that slides on the rod, with a bolt to hold it onto the rod. Clean any rust or crust off the rod, and slide the block back on but don't tighten it all the way. "Pop" it back onto the shift lever and the T-case. Have someone hold the lever all the way down in 2wd, and tighten the bolt on the block. Problem solved. The other issue was the transmission shifter popping out of 2nd, 4th, and reverse. This is caused from lowering the transmission/transfer case. There are 2 accordion style shift boots. 1 inside, and 1 on the transmission. When its cold outside they "stack" but lose flexibility. I replaced the boot inside the cab with a leather boot, eliminating half of the accordion stack. No issues shifting anymore.
The lift did give me more than the advertised 3.5 inches of lift however. After measuring the coils, it is actually 5 inches of lift. It would easily accommodate 35" tires. I've had the lift on for a few years now and I'm still happy with it. Its been off-road, 80 mph down the highway, driven halfway across the country with no problems. I would definitely recommend this kit to anyone.
Nice kit for the price.
