Reviews for Quadratec Quick Release Mirrors with Square Head for 97-18 Jeep Wrangler TJ, Unlimited, Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK
Easy to install. You definitely have to get them mounted tight and I mean tight…. If not they will move when the wind hits them. They do make a little whistling noise at higher speeds.
whistling like crazy. Any way we can remedy that situation?
Driver side is easy to adjust, passenger side seems impossible to get where I want it. Happy with the construction and look of mirror and yes a little whistle at around 30mph but you can't hear it above 50mph.
They are okay, don't feel like they stay in position well. But they get the job done with some positioning.
Easy installation and easy to take on and off. Whistling above 30+mph is annoying and it doesn't matter if you take the rubber protectors off. Vibrates bad at 50+mph and doesn't adjust/stay in position very well. But it keeps you road legal and that's all I really got them for. For $50 I expected a bit more, but overall if you really need the side mirrors to drive with the doors and probably top off, then you need driving lessons.
So, after having the mirrors for a little over a year and a half, the bottom of both of them are starting to turn a bronze/brown color and it is slowly moving up the mirror, so at some point, they will be useless to be as I won't be able to see out of them any more. I have shared a photo that shows the issue.
Very easy to install. I like the fact that they come with wing nuts so you dont lose the screw while not in use.
They do get a little noisy, like a bird chirping, if you are on the highway. The biggest draw back is they dont crank down tight enough to keep them from moving. My wife is constantly pushing the passenger side out.
Easy on and off. My only issue is the whistle at 35-55. I have tried everything even to tape up the whole mount and the whistle is still there. Someone on here posted about a small drop of silicon, but they never said where to put it. Any other suggestions?
I shouldn't have been so cheap and should have gone with a mirror relocation package or more expensive mirrors. These are cheap, stick out really far, and are prone to move and vibrate a lot at higher speeds. I will eventually upgrade to better ones. They still get the job done to be legal on the road with the doors off.
Fits well, however when driving at high speeds it makes a very annoying whistling sound.
