Reviews for K&N 77-1566KP 77 Series High Flow Air Intake for 12-18 Jeep Wrangler JK with 3.6L
This one took me about an hour or so. I pre-assembled all the parts that could before hand. Check to be sure you have all the hardware. Mine was missing one of the Z brackets. A call to K&N got one sent out via Fed Ex no charge. When you remove the air temp sensor from the old air tube, use a pick to gently lift the base of the sensor so you can turn it to release. Then you can wiggle it out. To put the factory one back, remove the O ring from it or else it will not seat in the new air tube. The tube is marked where you get it started. Looks really nice when done. Sounds good. Comes with a couple K&N stickers too.
works ok. Feel a little more horsepower and torque. Sound coming out of the engine area is a little bit more aggressive , but not to much. But you notice it’s feedback when driving off with speed. Together with a flowmaster muffler installed. A good choice.
Sounds amazing and works very well!
Took about 1.5 hrs for install, as the kit needed to be assemble. I would advise using vasilene on the rubber connections, to ease in installation. I did not use the crankcase vent hose connection to the intake pipe, as I wanted to allow cleaner air into the intake. I vented to OEM hose to outside air and blocked the air intake tube opening for the crankcase vent tube with duct tape. Better gas mileage and a throaty, sports car sound at idle and upon acceleration.
Total installation took around 2 hours although I wasn't concerned with the time, focused more on the quality of the installation ... instructions were precise and complete, no guessing required ... very happy with the product
If this thing doesn’t put a smile on your face when you accelerate then I’m sorry for you. Air sensor is a bit tricky, be careful and go slow. Test fit first then tighten.
Installation was not difficult and after 800 miles appears to be making a noticeable difference in gas mileage, nothing exceptional, just measurable. Sounds great!!
Awesome CAI! It did take me 2 hours to install but the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Everything fit perfectly! It has a wonderful growl at 2500 rpms and my 2016 jku is a lot more responsive! No need to take it somewhere to have it installed. If you have a basic set of tools and are careful with removing your O2 sensor you’ll be just fine!
I am quite happy with this CAI on my 2017 JKU. Installation was relatively easy, and the increased performance and gas mileage is nice. Granted it will not pay for itself anytime soon, but the performance boost was my primary motivation.
I had my mechanic install this last year. I have been getting better gas mileage and better response when I step on the gas. I put K&N products on everything I drive.
