The factory air intake system on your Jeep was designed to meet a multitude of parameters. Of them, providing your engine with the maximum amount of air for increased horsepower and torque were not one of them. Most kits include a new air intake tube that replaces the factory restrictive plumbing. You'll also get a higher flowing performance air filter that will simply allow much more air into your engine than the original paper panel filter. And finally most kits also include a heat shield to help deflect the hot under hood air and direct cool outside air to the filter.
