Reviews for Magnaflow 15160 Street Series Axle Back Exhaust System for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK in Black
Easy to install, sounds great. Looks awesome!
Installed on Friday and drove 200 miles roundtrip, into the mountains from the suburbs for a camping weekend. The new system isn't offensively loud outside my 2015 Jeep Wrangler (JKU), but there is a noticeable 'throaty rumbling'. The interior is another story, as that extra rumbling is very noticeable at RPM's over app 2,500. I have the stock, non-premium sound system (without rear subwoofer), and the volume needs to be raised a couple of notches to hear it well. Ditto for any voices inside (could be great!). Gas mileage did seemingly improve 1.5 MPG over my last day trip to the mountains. I was hoping to squeeze out a little bit of performance before installing the weight of a 3rd row from Little Passenger Seats (an occasional need), and wonder what 3rd row passengers will think about the rumbling (I don't think I'll hear them well). I had every intention of doing the install myself, but it was raining on Friday morning and a local mechanic offered to do it for $60, so I took the easy route. I watched the professional installation and the coupling is tight, so I know the rumbling isn't caused by a loose fit. I bought the MagnaFlow because it looks great, adds something extra to listen to and could benefit gas mileage; I got all three. Final note is that the fit around the VersaHitch is perfect, thankfully.
Outstanding. Little over an hour and that's with poor tool prep. A little liquid wrench in the beginning and the old muffler comes right off. Most of the time was spent unleashing the rubber grommets. Not sure where the complaint about noise comes from it's not much louder than the old one. Very smooth and responsive.
Awesome upgrade for looks and performance rumbling sounds at startup or shifitng through the gears. Relatively EZ install that gives instant satisfaction. My butt-meter registers a bit more peppiness and a 1mpg increase so far.
I love the growl and deep tones of this exhaust, at highway cruising speed, virtually no drone.
Installation was a breeze, however, getting the old muffler off took some work, i removed the clamp all the way, muffler wouldnt separate. Had to chisel and pry around the old one to get it loose.
It looks great and sound great! very happy.
The Magnaflow was very well packed and there was no way that this thing was coming to my doorstep dinged up, or black finish scratched. Kudos to Magnaflow for taking such pride in making sure my product makes it to my doorstep, as if it's just rolled off the assembly line. The install was cake and took less than an hour. The look and sound really finish off the rear end of my JKUR. This wouldn't be my first choice for an axle back exhaust/muffler if I 4x4'd this Jeep alot but, it's my DD pavement pounder/grocery getter, so it will work for me. I went for tone/sound & looks with this purchase and am very happy.
Took 30 minutes to install. Hardest thing was getting the factory muffler out of the rubber grommets. Nice little rumble. Not to overbearing. Looks nice from the rear of the Jeep.
Great sound without being obnoxious. Easy install and looks great on the Jeep. Installed on a 2014 Wrangler.
Easy to install, great look and tone. The rubber hangers are a pain, but some dish soap makes the job a cakewalk.
Awesome sound improvement. Also looks great. I haven't noticed anything on gas savings or horsepower.
