Reviews for Rugged Ridge 11585.01 Heavy Duty Tire Carrier Mount for 87-06 Jeep Wrangler YJ, TJ & Unlimited
Easy install needed to put a spacer behind the tire on bottom stude to keep it off the bumper.
It should work fine. 22 years on the stock carrier with a 35" took its toll and its cracking. More HD and some added spacing should fill the bill. Looks like simple direct replacement.
Great product, did exactly what I needed it to do and as it promised. It allowed us to mount an oversized off-road tire by giving us the extra clearance needed to get past the tubular bumpers. (Note: We used this in conjunction with the old mount.)
Easy to install, has plenty of clearance for my oversized tires and bumper. Added my own washers to protect from the door potentially cracking.
Works as a stock replacement if you bend your stock one. Sticks out further but doesn't move the tire up.
It required oe hardware which was a pain because mine was gone. However, easy to install and holds a 33x12.5 just fine.
Sturdy product but unfortunately does not work with 33” Mickey Thompsons. It is easy to attach and does not take long. It might work better with stock bumpers.
Difficult to install and terrible quality screws. Half of the screws sheared off with very minimal torque, but once I got screws from Home Depot the part holds the tire well.
Very nice product only issue with product is the bracket that attaches to the tailgate the holes did not line up I had to re-drill the hole.
three lug studs are supplied and there were three holes for studs, to mount the spare tire. Too bad they failed to tap out all three holes so the studs could be screwed into the carrier. I sure hope this is not American made... it is a simple product and is well made.. to bad there was no eye for detail. Bend metal, drill holes, tap three holes....
So of course I i had to get the correct tap and dye set and fix it myself. I
