Reviews for Oracle Lighting 7" High Powered LED Headlight Pair
Arrived just as stated. Install easy except for power to auxiliary ring wires.
4 stars because they do not tell you, you have to splice wire and do not tell you which ones. had to look it up on youtube to figure it out.
Great lights and easy install, for the most part. The kit not coming with the crucial T-Tap Splices does cause a problem. Annoying enough that I discovered them NOT being in the package, but add insult to injury that I had to go a buy them myself and none of the hardware stores near me carried such a splice. I had to make my own splice connector.
Pretty annoyed!
Just finished the install. Took longer than I thought because if you have the version with the angel eyes, you need to splice into the standby lights -- and Oracle didn't include the required T-tabs.
The cover of the lens is a rather soft plastic, not glass. If you slip with your screw driver, you'll scratch them right away (as I did).
Overall, I am liking them a lot. Mighty bright, even the angel eyes.
As another reviewer stated, the directions are not very helpful. I watched a few videos online to install properly. That aside, these things are awesome. They look great and wiring (once figured out) is fairly straightforward. I wanted the controller box wired into my glove box so I could utilize the demo window so I just made my own harness to run through the firewall. Very happy with these. The headlamps are also much brighter than my old halogens. The minus a star is due to the directions being so poor.
I have zero complaints with the product. Looks and performs just as I had hoped. However, as others have pointed out, the directions for the HALO leave something to be desired (4* rating is result). I don’t like going from forum to forum to figure out an install, when it could have been easily explained for my exact product, rather than guessing.
I purchased some similar lights off of eBay, but they made horrible static on the radio. These DO NOT have the static issue and look great so I am happy! There are two reasons it does not get 5 stars. One is they were a little loose in the housing but I added some foam to grip, it's hidden so no big deal and it could just be my housing. The other reason is that I needed the anti-flicker modules for my 16 JK. I understand these lights fit other vehicles and the module is not always needed, but Quadratec is a Jeep site and should have included it in my order. The module is free from the manufacturer but then you have to wait a few days for it to arrive.
Lights are great, four star rating is for the lack of instructions for wiring the halos and installation on an older CJ5. To install properly on a 1982 CJ5 you have to trim the headlight mounting bracket so the light will sit flush. The wiring for the halos is separate from the headlight itself and requires some additional wire to power the LED control box. Again, good product, just lacking on information for proper installation.
Great lights. But not as bright as my honeycomb leds. And it has false specs on the website. Box states completely different lumins which are less that website
Work as intended but a little annoying fact. The BC1 Bluetooth controller default to strobe lights. So if you wire to ignition ( to turn on lights when you turn on Jeep) it defaults to white strobe lights and you have to login to app to change to your desired color. Or you permanently wire to battery but then you have to remember to log in to app to shut off lights in order to not drain battery.
Terrible design but they do look pretty.
