Reviews for Rugged Ridge 13551.23 Dash Multi-Mount Phone Kit for 18-20 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
I do love the versatility of this product, the only thing is...the end clips break after a while. This is my 2nd replacement I am getting from the 5-Year warranty. Until I find something similar I will use and hope they made some type of improvement on the quality of the ends.
It fits very easily into the factory dash cubby using the factory screws. Takes about 2 mins to fit once you open the box and fits like a glove.
The bad news is the standard ball mount that the kit comes with has a very limited range of motion that makes it impossible to see your phone screen as it’s tilted upwards at an odd angle of 45 degrees and you cannot adjust it any farther.
Will have to try and find an alternate ball mount to go on there otherwise I’ll be returning and trying something else.
Bought this product about a month ago. I like the phone mount, but had to modify it to fit my phone case. The the rubber clips that hold the phone are too short to accommodate phones in many cases (I have a Otter Box case and a LifeProof case). I ended up cutting off the side clips and added a stick on clip used for the handy dandy round pop-out phone holder that are popular these days.
Rubber ends cracked, won't hold phone.
Great product EXCEPT the phone mount failed to hold the phone. The rubber gripper flexed and would shoot my phone across the truck on highway, let alone offroad. Finally unscrewed it, replaced it with 20mm ball and put an offroad/motorcycle style cross mount. The screw was a perfect fit if you use a camera tripod nut (mine was alreay inside of the 20mm ball). So now I have a phone mount the way I want without having to drill or stick to the windshield.
I should have listened to the reviews. It does take up alot of window space. It will not swivel that far to the left or right . I havent had it that long so I havent completely given up on liking it yet . The concept is great though.
So, I didn't like this as phone holder, but I took the phone holder off and left it in place because it provides a deeper dash pocket and the phone holder I went with fits around it.
You just can't get the phone to face you at a good angle and it takes up some valuable windshield view.
Good product, not great. It says it’s for “Multi-Mount” , well, so far I can’t figure out how to put anything on it facing forward. It does hold my phone great, even off-road, and I have a 7-PLUS with an Otterbox case.
I bought this mount for the go pro and phone cradle, the GO pro option wont work on a JLUR and I cant see how it would work on the glass of the JKU either but who knows...
What I can say is after two months the phone holder has flung my phone no less than 20 times into my floorboard luckily I have gorilla glass on it. the rubber boot came off the top piece where the hard plastic stops it should be through the entire length of the rubber clamp portion...
In regards to the go pro option for mount I did get it to hard via double stick 3m and the base fit snug and perfect inside the right upper side of the tray by passenger side so that did work out well but window mount for it no good.
I also think it should include a rubber mat for the pricxe I do like the depth more than stock version but also they should sell the phone craddle part as a seperate item since I figure I cant be the only one the rubber boot has broken off on...
Good fit, but phone holder part made cheap and I returned
