Reviews for Rugged Ridge 13551.23 Dash Multi-Mount Phone Kit for 18-20 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
I was pretty happy with this product. I replaced the original phone holder with a magnetic one since I had a magnetic case. The ball socket appears to be fairly standard and I had no trouble swapping it. I did find installation surprisingly tricky. The angle the screw driver has to take to get that screw in was not ideal. I ended up having to use pliers to grip screw heads and get them further enough in that I could fit the screwdriver. If you have a short screw driver (I did not) you might be able to skip the plier step. Overall, pretty happy though.
two screws it fits right in nice having my phone mounted
Great use of space and perfect location to mount my phone. The actual phone clamp however is cheap and the rubber broke after a month or so. The ball itself is a standard size so I replaced it with a tech mount and have loved it since. I have yet to use the camera mounting plate.
Easy install. It provides a deeper tray to hold things. The phone holding arm seems a little weak, I could see the phone flying out over rough terrain.
I love the 'plug and play' nature of this accessory. It was as simple as removing the current rubber insert, removing two screws, dropping this in, and putting the screws back in. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 which is a larger-sized smartphone and I am worried about the longevity of this product. The spring mechanism that creates the tension to hold the phone seems to be stretched to the max when I put my phone in there. Additionally, the "arms" of the holder end in flacid rubber so if you don't get the phone all the way to the back of the holder, then it just falls out on the first bump. As long as the product hold up for a long time I would rate this 5 stars, but I am leery that it won't last leaving me to replace the original and find another solution.
This guy is really handy and about the only phone mount I could find that works here in this spot. It does obstruct the visibility out the front windshield a little bit, but not much more than any other would. I use this to use my phone as a dash cam, so it needs to be above the dash level to record video. If you only need a phone mount, you might consider something that holds the phone below the dash line so your visibility is not as obstructed. The mount in the center can be removed, but the base can’t and takes up a bit of storage space from the tray. You can see this from the photos. Otherwise it looks and works just as it appears in the photos.
I drive A LOT, so this has made a big difference when using my phone's GPS. Plus, the deeper compartments hold all my junk. Being short, and having short arms, I do wish the phone holder stuck out a little farther. But a great product.
Perfect fit, but I do wish the ball and socket allowed for more left/right or up/down positioning.
The fitment and appearance of the mound is perfect, however, it was disappointing that it does not come with a rubber mat for the inside tray to replace the one you need to take out to install this leaving the mounting screws exposed.
Nice tray and looks well made. What I like about it is that you can have both your phone and traffic cam mounted. The downside is that fit the 2022 Wrangler Rubicon 4xe. The charging indicating lights prevent it from seating into the dash. This should be noted on the website.
