Mounting bracket is not painted. A CB antenna must be grounded to the Jeep chassis to work correctly (wisdom from a real radio engineer).

Perfect bracket for those looking to install a CB on their TJ

Questions

How big of a hole needs to be drilled? Can I use a jumper wire for a ground to another bolt?
1/4" hole sizing. The bolt is required for proper grounding. Thanks for your inquiry.
Looking for a passenger side mount, will the mount for the 2002 TJ fit a 2005 TJ?
The mount will physically fit to 97-06 but it is not recommended for 03-06 on the passenger side. The driver side is no problem. The reason it is not recommended for 03-06 passenger side is because Jeep moved the evap canister from under the hood to the top of the passenger side fender well in the back. The canister is in the way when you try to run the antenna wire. It can be done but it is a lot more work because you have to remove the canister then reinstall it. Thanks for the inquiry!
