Mounting bracket is not painted. A CB antenna must be grounded to the Jeep chassis to work correctly (wisdom from a real radio engineer).

VERY NICE! This is a high quality component, it was easy to install, and it provides a secure mounting location for your antenna. I went with driver side so I wouldn't have to drill a hole for the cable to pass through (used existing factory cable pass-thru on driver side).

Don't waste your time with any other tail light antenna mount. This is the best. Thinner than other brands, so the installation feels more solid with factory tail light bolts. Easy to paint to match to factory Jeep color. Absolutely NO issues in successfully grounding the antenna. Worth every penny.

This mount is made to last. It fit and looks excellent. Well worth the money.

Stainless, and simple location. I don't like the drill a hole part though.
