Painless Wiring Harness Assembly Reviews
FYI this kit does not contain any connectors for tail lights, dash bulbs, gauge connections, tail lights, or literally anything else other than head lights so you will have to reuse them off your old harness The kit itself is high quality and would have worked great but I did return it so I can buy the harness that is fully install ready. "Aint nobody got time fo dat"
Initially ordered a harness that wasn't pre-terminated and, although it was listed as a fitment item for a '78 CJ7, was much more of a hassle. Spend the money and save time with this one.
Overall, it is a good kit. I used it to rewire my 1980 CJ7. The wire are all marked and of good quality. The instruction manual is a bit lacking, so you have to spend a lot of time tracing the wires to figure out the connections. I pulled the manuals for this harness and the fully terminated harness off the painless site and found having both on hand very useful. There harness does not include a couple of wires, but you will have enough wire in the kit to make those. For example, it does not include the wire from the ignition to the brake warning light. Everything is of good quality except the flashers, mine broke in less than a week. I would suggest you plan on buying better ones instead of having them break on the road. Overall, I'm happy with the harness. Everything on my CJ7 works as is should.
