Quadratec Maximum Duty Hydro 7.0 Rear Shock Reviews
I got both the front and rear. They are really nice. We put a lot of miles on yesterday on very rough terrain for the Jeep scavenger hunt and they held up great and helped really smooth out the rough riding. Very pleased with these!
Lasted 1 year. Top bushing failed. Split in 2 and now the top of the shock rattles against the frame. 1 year highway miles only. Original lasted 15 years off-roading. Disappointed!!
These things SUCK.
First off, the right front shock died almost immediately. Good news is Quadratec is a great company and they warrantied it with no hassle at all.
In my 2001 XJ, these shocks were almost like they're valved exactly backward. Over rough-ish roads in the city your fillings are coming loose, yet at higher speeds there seems to be no damping whatsoever.
There is a good side, though. These things suck so bad that they forced me to learn my lesson and go with Bilsteins and I couldn't be happier. The difference is like night and day.
Thought I'd also mention I was happy to buy the Bilsteins from Quadratec. They're a good company and it was my fault that I went cheap and got what i paid for.
