I found this tailgate stop very useful until it bent! The stop is two pieces where one bar slides inside a housing. I was loading water softener salt bags from the passenger side of the Jeep and hit the end of the tailgate enough to put a slight, almost invisible bend in the inside sliding bar. I could not get the bar retracted and had to remove the whole unit in the store parking lot so I could close my tailgate to drive home. I have tried straightening the bar but so far it still gets stuck at the bend. The concept is good but the tight manufacturing tolerances have made this product a very expensive paper weight.

This is not a tailgate "STOP". It does not stop the tailgate at all. It simply holds it open and it only does that after your screw it tightly in place by hand. If I wasn't in Canada I would be sending this piece of junk back immediately.
