JKS Manufacturing J-Konnect 3.5in Suspension System Reviews
The JKS JSPEC J-Kontrol 3.5" Suspension System is great!
To start off with, the shipping from Quadratec was quick even though the product was not in stock. It took a few days to fill the back order but only took 3-5 days for each of the boxes to arrive once they did ship. As far as the packaging of the JKS kit, very well done. All the parts are divided in their respective shadow boarded cutouts in a dense foam to protect the parts from each other and keep the heavy parts from piercing the box. Working as a Manufacturing Engineer in Aerospace and the Heavy Duty Truck industries, you know a quality manufacturer when they take the time to package their product so effectively.
As far as the kit, it is very inclusive minus two parts I added on (the Teraflex sway bar frame mounts, and the Teraflex exhaust spacer kit). All the parts arrived in great shape and the instructions that were included were very well done and printed in color for clarity. They included the important torque specifications and helpful notes for disassembly and reassembly. If you elect to not weld on the front and rear track bar reinforcement brackets you can achieve this install in near the rated time in your garage. However, grinding off the paint from the areas to weld and the welding took me additional time, due to welding infrequently and not being at expert welder status. :)
The ride quality is great for me even though I have not driven my jeep with the lift on it much yet. I can note that the suspension is noticeably stiffer, but not in a bad way. I feel more attached to the road over the factory suspension and I feel that the jeep grips more in the corners. There is not a large increase in body roll with the sway bars still connected front and rear, which is great.
I did get to test the articulation of the jeep on a good-sized stump on my property and I have to say having the JKS Quicker Disconnects and the ability to remove them quickly enables a great deal of flex. Even on the stump which is probably 30 inches tall did not fully flex out the travel of the suspension. I will submit that photo, it is the white Willys Jeep JKU.
I am very excited to continue to drive it on the road and test out the suspension off-road!
I purchased this kit about a month before I did the install, and the only thing i regret is not installing earlier. The quality of the parts is fantastic, and it's very complete. The ride is pretty smooth, a lot smoother than the stock sport suspension. After this lift and 35s i gained approximately 6-6.5in from fully stock. I am more than impressed with how easy the install was, and how precisely cut the weld on rear trackbar gusset was. Definitely go through and weld the bracket on, you may never notice the difference but if the OEM mount ever fails it wont be a cheap fix! There is a couple of items that should be purchased with this kit, JKS rear adjustable swaybar endlinks, and a steering stabilizer. I never purchased a stabilizer (near future), but i did purchase the end links. I wasn't a big fan, nor agreed with the directions saying to drill a hole 1/2in or so above stock rear end links hole to reuse the links. You shouldnt go through and weaken a bracket when doing a suspension set up. But all in all i would buy this kit over and over again! It is a great set up, and as labeled "Made in the USA!" Buy this kit, you wont regret it!!
installed this kit 2 weeks ago on my 2017 JKU sport and it is amazing! shocks are awesome! I read a lot of reviews on this kit teraflex and aev and ended up going with this one and I am so glad I did! this is my first jeep and will definitely be going with JKS from now on! I did also install rear adjustable trac bar, rear adjustable sway bar links,fox performance series steering stabilizer. everyone is right you get what you pay for! this isn't a top of the line kit that people say but it definitely rides like one in my opinion!
