AMP Research PowerStep Reviews
This is going to be a long review of the install.
Shipped fast & opened package with no damages seen to any of the items, very well packaged for shipping the product.
Removed the factory rock sides from my 2023 Jeep 10mm & 13mm ( 540 miles on it )
After studying the instructions & reading them more than once, I started following them step by step, & not even after about halfway through the install, I seen I was short 4 bolts to mount the steps & ended up using the factory bolts to finish mounting the main parts that hold the steps.
On to installing the steps per the installation process & next the motors on the front, found out real fast, I needed to remove the steps & the front mounts in order to install the bolts to the motor & then reinstall the mounts. ( yes, this turned into a major project & time consuming ) .
The wiring went pretty smooth, zip ties anywhere that needed them to keep it from even becoming a problem.
The covers for the motors had plastic plugs that broke as soon as I went to push them in & simply used small zip ties to keep the covers in place. ( was shorted 1 there as well )
Now the instructions were not clear but simply put, I'm putting this here for someone else to not have to backtrack to keep that 3-4 hours if you're working by yourself.
Also nowhere in the instructions does it state use an Allen ( 4.5 ) to fully extend the steps in the lowered position to help yourself later while installing the wires. ( Allen on the end of the motor -- it's slow by hand but you will not damage the motor this way. )
Now, on to the lights ... personally I'd use old school to keep them from coming apart with a wire nut & electric tape, & still use electric tape using the supplied butt connectors to save yourself a headache later. The lights work really good & " flood " the step area very well to see where you want to step.
You'll need a step ladder to climb on the top of the engine while running the wires to make sure to keep them away from as much heat as possible, & a jack stand to lift it up to get under the Jeep or whatever you are putting the steps on.
The " rubber plug " is plastic now on the 2023 Jeeps going through the firewall.

Five year warrantee. Looks flush and steps are up and out of way.
