Reviews for K&N 63-1576 63 Series AirCharger Performance Intake for 18-22 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT with 3.6L Engine
Great product. Easy to install. Noticeable increase in power especially on the tipper end. I did it with a Flowmaster muffler too so not sure how big the difference would be by itself.
Installation was quick and easy (plenty of videos online for those who are still uncertain). Overall, it took me about 30 minutes to assemble and install on my 2019 JLU. The engine sound certainly does change, it's much more aggressive and you can really hear the intake pulling the air in. I have a Borla ATAK aftermarket exhaust installed, and these two combined give the Jeep a great sound. Once the OEM intake was out, I could see just how flat the intake tube was compared to the K&N. An overall great improvement! This is a simple, low-cost upgrade for your Wrangler and I would highly recommend it.
Easy install, less than an hour. The sound is great and now I will track the MPG too.
Super easy installation. Took me about an hour and half to read instructions and follow them. Wow the motor sounds so much more aggressive. I can’t wait to see the different an aftermarket exhaust is going to make. Definitely a lot more throttle response as I shift through the gears (manual transmission). The parts are made of high quality materials and fit cleanly under the Hood. It’s amazing how restrictive the stock intake is when compared to this K&N cold air instake system. All hardware was included and you only need 4 or 5 hand tools to complete the install. I would highly recommend K&N. This is the first time I’ve installed one of their kits, but it’s the best one I’ve installed over the years.
Adds some growl.
A great piece of kit on my 2021 JLUR, if you're interested in an aggressive sound during acceleration. In fact, it makes your acceleration sound WAY more aggressive than the speed you're actually going. I think this has to do with the enclosed box style vs. an open cone. A GREAT sound.
However, I did some testing to get an idea of any MPG savings. It was negligible. Acceleration actually felt a little bit slower than stock, but I have no numbers to back that up. I ended up giving this to my brother and I went back to stock. He absolutely LOVES the sound.
Also note, for this particular model, you need to remove the grill to access bolts to remove part of the air dam. It's not super difficult to do, but it is different compared to other CAI brands.
Took about an hour to install. Would have only been 30 minutes if it weren't for that rubber grommet. I think its a quality part, but not what I was expecting. It sounds amazing and butt dyno felt a difference. I would consider another company but I'm not disappointed in it so far.
I understand that a measurable increase in horsepower can be observed at high rpms as per the sheet they leave in the box, however, in hindsight this was probably a waste of money. Sure it looks cool, and I like to imagine that the engine is breathing better, but I didn’t feel any difference, nor did I record better mileage. I track my mileage every fill-up, and didn’t see a difference.
Extremely poor design and quality control. The pipe had a raised area where it meets up with the filter housing box, so the two pieces would not fit flush against one another. The holes on the pipe did not line up with the screw inserts on the filter housing box. Where the two pieces meet there is a massive gap which lets air bypass the filter.
I'm honestly blown away that this thing is such poor quality at this price point. I wound up grinding down the raised spot, drilling the holes 1/8" larger in diameter so the bolts would fit, and sealed the crack between the two pieces with black RTV because Quadratec returns are such a headache.
