I recommend this product with a caveat or two. I recommend watching a video on installation before attempting as the instructions are not the best (not the worst, but they definitely need improvement). Some instructions were not clear and others could be skipped (eg. flipping the passenger side bolt). It took me a few hours to install but this is well worth in (mine it the keyed version). Also, be prepared to work in a tight space which was another challenge I had (large hands). Otherwise, well made and recommended, I had under the seat versions in a JK I once owned.

Great product. Allows you to keep the rest of the interior locks unlocked when you’re running topless / doorless. Took one star off for the install. It will fill up your swear jar!

Love this mod. Just wish the light in the console lit up the combo lock a little more for use at night, but that is not a reflection on the quality of this product. Huge pain in the arse to assemble inside the console, but well worth it-- especially if you carry a handgun in your jeep

The install is tough for a person like myself with large hands made a little difficult but still do able if bone right very Secure would recommend to other Jeep owners

Okay, instructions are 4/5. Final fit 5/5, and yes you lose some capacity, but that’s to be expected. Function is 5/5, as it feels way more secure, because if it was as much of a chore to put in, good luck getting it out for a thief. Which leads me to a design rating of 3/5. If they just integrated the nuts into the frame, or threaded the hole instead of the nylon lined hex nut, all you would need to do the install would be a screw driver. Instead, you have to jam your hand upside down and in a VERY tight space and use two tools, one to hold the nut and a screwdriver to screw it into the nut. Major pain. Additionally, the spot light in the console is no longer able to shine in the box. The door flips up and blocks the light. It’s basically only useful to shine on your key hole or the combination, which is helpful I suppose. Good luck finding anything else though in the dark.

Overall, I’m very happy with it, even with room for improvement. I’m happy I can feel a bit more confident leaving some items of modest value in there, possibly leaving the factory door unlocked to deter a jerk from prying it open with a screwdriver like I’ve heard others mention.

It's not a complete lock box, more like a metal locking lid with internal metal side braces but it definitely makes your center console more secure. Directions were terrible. I found an install video online otherwise I'd still be trying to figure out the directions.

Love it, works great. Deducted a star since installation was difficult.

Definitely worthwhile. However:
(1) It takes up more space than I expected. Also, it leaves empty space on top of the hinged lid below the upper storage tray which is wasted.
(2) Beware, the rear edge must be above the bump on the rear wall of the space. I put the lid assembly in as the directions said to do (no useful picture) and then couldn't raise it up. To get it back out required uninstalling most of what I had done. But I got there eventually.
(3) The various parts have hard square edges that will mar things you keep in it. I stuffed it with a hand towel and tucked things into that. It should have a padded liner or padding for the metal braces and so on. I suppose I'll have to figure out something.
(4) It seems secure, which is the point.

Very well constructed and secure once in place. The problem was getting it there. Parts of the instructions were almost of no use and getting it installed required disjointed hands and fingers. Almost gave up and sent it back, convinced I was sent the incorrect item. Finally, it dawned on me just how it went and it fell into place after that. Still difficult to assemble in such a tight space, but a quality item. I gave it 4-stars for the poor instructions.

Pretty much like everyone else, kind of a pain to install. Reading the tips from the other buyers really helped. Also watch the video, put it together outside first.
Having said that this thing is awesome. Very sturdy, well made and looks good when the console is opened. Since I have a soft top installed this really gives some security for smaller items you don't want to carry. Still has access to the USB port. I took an extra cable, plugged it in and ran it around the front, locked the lid and can plug anything into it without unlocking. Would recommend for the DIY group.
