Reviews for Rugged Ridge Fortis Tube Doors for 18-21 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
Overall pretty pleased with these doors. Have used them for the past year. Fit took a bit of customization to work well. Back door kept opening by itself when the Jeep flexed. Had to rebuild the locking mechanism. It was pretty easy to do though. I would recommend these.
Overall great set of doors and I have already had a few compliments. Install is pretty simple. Like another review stated the passenger side door was a bit more difficult due to the rubber stop however with some minor adjustments the door closes fine. The only issue I had keeping me from a 5-star rating is the fact that the driver's side door came with a glob of what appears to be dried up manufacturer glue which has been the pain to remove. Hoping a little Goo-Gone will remedy this issue. Luckily it's on the inside of the door.
Very happy with tube doors. They make my kids feel safer. Although one door had a crooked welded on bracket. I called quadratec. They shipped replacement doors immediately.
Fit really well with only minor adjustments to get perfectly. I did have to very slightly bend the mount for the rubber stopper to keep pressure against the latch on the passenger side door, so that it wouldn't rattle.
Have had these tube doors for 3 summers now. They look nice, fit well, and I get lots of compliments....BUT.
1) The strap to manage how wide the swing open was badly designed. Basically the door swung 180 degrees, which is bad when a bolt head come in contact with the body and cause nice little dents. I mitigated this by tying knots into the strap to shorten it, but not before I had. a couple nice dents. This seemed like a huge mis/oversight on the design and manufacturing of the door strab
2) The door handle mechanism worked well the first summer. However, each season after that 3 out of 4 doors, various screws come loose within the mechanism. So eqch year I have to take these apart once to twice a season to tights/adjust.
3) Door latch alignment to the door catch was not well aligned on two of doors. I THINK i have it worked out, but took a lot of tweaking.
Overall, I still like these despite those issues, all of which should have been addressed in the design and build of these tube doors by the manufacturer. Price point is good if you are willing to maintain these doors.
They look great but a little disappointed that they don’t line up…you have to lift the foot to actually get them to latch. For $1,000 you’d think they would line up without issue. Again, look great but take some maneuvering to properly close & latch
Bought these for my 2019 Rubicon. Doors fit ok, hinge axis alignment off a little and won’t let bump stop come to rest in door jam causing a lot of rattling, it is a jeep though. Lost rubber bump stops on one front and one rear door, they fell out pretty easily. Not sure how to get replacements. They look good though, I only use them when my kids are in the jeep.

Love the look. There’s a rattle with the passenger side front door. All the other doors are firmly in place and don’t move at all. The hardware to wall mount the doors isn’t provided which was a little annoying. Took a star off for that and another for the rattle.
I bought these 4 doors as a set on June 5th, 2023. I installed the doors a week or two later. On the last door, one of the bolts immediately broke off as I inserted the bolt into the hinge. I contacted Quadratec and they made a claim on the issue. I have still as of today, Feb 3rd, 2024, not heard back from them or had the piece replaced.
As far as how it fits, besides the broken piece, it was easy to install and looked good for the short time I had them on the Gladiator. I've bought a lot of accessories for the jeep (as nearly all jeep people do......) and this was the first "failure" I've experienced.
