Reviews for Lange Originals MJL-800 Coyote Mirror Pair for 18-23 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
I love these mirrors! I like how easy they are to put on and remove. They stay tight and don't vibrate. Would highly recommend!
After using door hinge mirrors for the first year, which are a pain to get set then fold back in in you, I was really looking forward to these. And let me tell you these are the real deal and solve all your doorless mirror issues. Position and adjustment is easy and perfect, installation and alignment was simple, and I get compliments and questions on them.
These look and work great! I keep the piece that attaches to the body on all the time so it’ll be ready when I need the mirrors. Just slide the mirrors into place and tighten down the set screw. Things do appear much farther than they are, but because of those they are made they’re great trail mirrors to show wheel placement and such. Excellent field of view for trails. Plus, they keep you legal, and you’re still able to see your blind spots as well as further behind you.
These were a little pricey, but they work great. Zero movement on the highway, unlike the hinge-mounted cheaper ones I had been using. The driver's side mirror being convex does take some getting used to, however.
Great product, mirror don’t move an inch. Easy install and you can keep the base mounted all year around.
Outstanding set of mirrors. Easily installed. I chose to secure the thumb screw by using pliers; after tightening the thumb screw by hand I used pliers to turn the screw 1/8 turn more. There has been no vibration at highway speeds. Also the mirrors are easily removable if choosing to put the doors back on.
Love these! Don't move at all at highway speeds. Mine didn't come with the knobs as advertised. Came with thumb screws that are hard to tighten.
Went with the set screws instead. Much more solid.
The one thing I didn't like was the paint protector applied to the cowl. After I put it on, it didn't look good so I took it off, put it on the back of the block and trimmed with an exacto knife before re-mounting.
Worth every penny.
Very happy with these mirrors. I had been looking for offroad mirrors to replace my hinge-mounted mirrors, and found these. They worked perfectly. They are rock-steady, absolutely no vibration while driving at highway speeds.
A couple comments:
1) A couple folks have commented that the bolt seems to be not long enough to thread completely. I did not have this problem; the bolt fit perfectly, with enough threads to firmly attach the base. And, unlike what some here have said, the base does not attach to the skin; it attaches firmly to frame. In order for the base to fit properly, you'll need to slightly lift the front skin, and slide the base under the skin. This makes a perfect fit. If you find the bolt is still not long enough, you can easily purchase an M8x1.25 bolt at Home Depot, Lowe's or even on Amazon for pennies.
2) Some here have also commented that the convex lens is hard to get to get used to. I agree; it does take some getting used to. However, the convex lens does give me an increased field of view, and I can even position the mirror to give a view of my blind-spot.
3) Some here have said that the passenger side is hard to position to get the full range of view. I did not have this problem. You can easily reposition the rod. And because attachment assembly on the mirror is off-center, you can also use this to rotate the mirror for the perfect field range.
4) Some here have commented that the mirror is plastic. it is not. The housing is plastic; but then, so the factory mirror.
All in all, a great product with a low profile, and rock-steady fitment.
Great product. Easy install. No shaking. The convex mirror takes a little getting used to but that's it. I would recommend these to anyone.
After having these for two years I can say they are solid as a rock. I can cruise 90 on the highway and they don't move. I've chosen to leave the mirror mount on year round. No issues.
