Reviews for Quadratec Winch Ready Bull Bar Front Bumpers for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ & Unlimited
Excellent product. Well made and sturdy, perfect fit, quick to install (one hour counting removal of the old bumper). I wanted to have the hoop tilted forward, but the factory fog lights wouldn't fit under it in that position. I tipped the hoop towards the grill and the problem was solved. Great look for my '06 LJ.
Very happy!
Can't say enough about how much we love our new bumper and winch!! Thank you for providing such amazing products! It was a surprise at how easy it was to install! Our Jeep is happy, too!!
Please be advised this delivery will require a signature and will be dropped off by box truck with lift gate. This bumper is amazing, very sturdy and nicely made. I feel as if I could plow through a concrete wall and it would only scratch it. Worth every penny, thanks quadretec you never cease to amaze me!
I must have got one made early Monday or late Friday . The bumper looks great , however , a couple of small issues :
The supplied self tapping screws for mounting the fag lights , were to small for 6 of the 7 holes , and , the 8th hole was center punched but not drilled .
Also , the same mounting flange with the missing hole , had a lot of flex . Seems they may have missed a weld or two in addition to the missing hole and the inconsistent hole sizes .
Other than those annoyances , the bumper bolted on the frame with minimal hassle .
I did have to trim the passenger side to accommodate my old Warn HS9500i winch , just some quick cutting grinding , a shot of paint , and , good to go , once I finished rebuilding the winch that is . No I do not expect Qtec to design for a product 15+ years out of production , so yeah , the winch issue is on me .
BTW , I had no real issues installing the winch after the bumper was already installed . YMMV .
Just check the screws and the fog light mounting flanges before you install yours , easier to address any issues then .
Bumper came well-packed and secure, but despite that had some blemishes in the powdercoat in obvious areas. Short of returning it, Quadratec suggested I spend $17 on 'touch up paint' to correct a brand new bumper. A little aggravating, but OK. The bull bar: nicely constructed. But for the love of all that is holy, Quadratec: Don't powdercoat the dang bolts. I had to use paint stripper and a steel brush to get the powdercoat off the bolts in order to get the lock nuts to thread on and finally secure the bull bar to the bumper. Give me a break! Two little things that make this an aggravation and are easily solved. Well, off to buy that $17 touch up paint to fix a brand new bumper. Next, we'll see if it actually does fit a Warn VR evo winch.....
Arrived promptly & undamaged. Nice looking and seems well made. Time will tell whether it rusts as bad as my previous aftermarket bumper (which was a nightmare to remove). Warning: this bumper is not compatible with Currie (Rockjock) front Antirock sway bars - which I didn't realize until I tried to install it. You'd have to do a lot of cutting on the bumper to get it to work, probably compromising strength. Fortunately I still had my stock stabilizer bar & QDs, which I re-installed. It also interferes with the Skid Row Steering Box Skid Plate, but cutting a notch in the skid plate fixed the problem. The wiring harness on the stock fog lights isn't long enough if you install them in the hoops provided.
Given the other reviews, I didn't go for the foglight option.
Well built, heavy bumper. Sticks out slightly past the edge of the steel part of the fender.
Does NOT fit the Warn 9.5ti winch without modification. The winch tray needs to be cut to clear the motor.
The hoop does not clear Hella 4000 Series lights without modification.
So I got this bumper because I was looking for something that is buff and flat on the front so if need be I could push with it. When I got the bumper I was happy with how buff it is and installed it the same day. This is the part where I tell you I fell in love with it and then found out it does NOT fit the warn zeon winch. With that said I’m gonna keep the bumper and modify it to fit my Zeon winch I like it that much. I would recommend this bumper to all.
Well built, easy to install and a fair value.
