Reviews for Quadratec QRC Front Winch Ready Bumper for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
I debated back and forth between giving this bumper 3 stars or 4 stars. In the end I gave it 4 just because the price was so good.
Pros: Finish looks very nice. Welds look good. Bumper seems to be very high quality. Studs/holes matched up perfectly with frame horn mounts and required no drilling. I have a 2020 Gladiator Sport and this bumper fit like a glove.
Cons: Mounting the winch was an absolute nightmare. Ended up having to take the bumper back off the truck so I could bend my arms to get into the tiny access holes they cut in the bottom of the winch plate. Does anybody actually think about the stuff they design? Do yourself a favor and MOUNT THE WINCH FIRST, THEN INSTALL THE BUMPER. The instructions were wrong. And, the holes are too far rearward on the winch plate. This causes the top-mount solenoid box wiring to be jammed up against the grille. Moving the winch forward 1 inch would have cured this. Also, fog light mount holes would not accept the included hardware. I ended up having to enlarge the holes to get the hardware to work. There are NO filler panels or covers on the back of the bumper to protect the fog light housings/wiring/bulbs from damage from mud, snow, gravel, etc. Keep this in mind if you're running aftermarket LED bulbs! Many of those bulbs use internal fans to keep cool...you won't be able to use those bulbs with this bumper. I'm having to get covers fabricated to protect the fog lights. This is a glaring omission in my opinion...an aftermarket bumper should include this.
Overall, it's a very nice bumper at a very nice price. They just need to do some serious work on the fog light provisions and the ability to mount winches.
Easy install good instructions seems solid and the integrated winch plate worked slick with qperfromance stealth winch. 4 stars because some of the welds were a bit undercut. The logo is super easy to peal off if you dont like it. Mine was packaged really well with a giant box, Styrofoam blocks and each piece was bubble wrapped individually. Would absolutely recommend having a swivel head ratchet and a few extensions of varying lengths as well as some metric ratcheting wrenches for the removal of the stock bumper. You dont need to relocated the vacuum pump. Install took oh about 40 min, your millage may vary on removing the stock bumper
I have been shopping around for over a year and had hard time finding one I like. It cost me more than double the original price after taxes, import charges, delivery costs. I guess I really like this one ...
Bumper quite heavy. If you not going to install it right away - keep it in the box it came in. That way you will avoid dents in hardwood...
It is possible to manage installation by yourself. But from safety point - its heavy bumper and you have to get under it to tight down bolts. I advise someone to help keep it on. Also it doesn't lay flat on frame. It held by 8 bolts while inch higher than the frame. Second person will have to hold it while you put bolts. See pic attached.
But the biggest problem I encounter - Warn Zeon barley fit. It was way too tight to leave it that way, so I had to do some cutting.
Once again great bumper, solid, heavy and looks nice. Just combination of QRC bumper and Warn Zeon are not the best fit. Definitely NOT what you call - Plug and Play. The Jeep grill tight against Warn cables. No longer removable unless I pull off bumper a bit.
No matter what - I still enjoyed the installation process. Liked the end result.
Thanks Quadratec.

Bumper is sweet looking, easy to mount, and will be well used off road. License plate holder add on is smaller than plate attached. This allows my plate to have gotten bent, both ways.
Super easy install. Great looking bumper. Can’t wait to drop a winch in it.
Built sturdy, but now that I've had it installed for a few, I noticed the quality check was missed on the one that I received...
There is some weld slag that was not ground down, no big deal, but the light mount tabs were definitely not looked at. They do not sit at the same height or angle. When I do finally mount something there I'm going to have to stack some washers to make the lights even.
Overall I'm happy with the bumper, it just sucks that this was missed...
It had a small cut in the powder coat out of the box. 3 winters now and it is starting to rust at all welds and the cut is now a full blown rust spot. (my fault). The rest of the paint looks good, so I will do some touch ups. I bought the matching rear bumper a year later. The paint is horrible. The bumper is rusting everywhere. If you want a pair of good matching bumpers do not buy these.
Bumper looks awesome after easy install, but after a few months (maybe 6) it's starting to show signs of surface rust here and there. I will be reaching out to quadratec soon about the issue.
Cons:
- when I received it the threads were out of spec in the bumper. I had to retap the threads to get the provided bolts to work
- it's seriously heavy, just over 100lbs, and it mounts so far out on the front of the frame that it pulls the nose way down. Not only does this reduce attack angle, it affects the handling on the highway
- it comes with holes for the fog lamps, but you have to buy extension cables or make your own to reach the holes
- it extends farther in front of the wheels than in the photo. it's more like a mid-width than a stubby.
Pros:
- inexpensive
- winch-ready
The good: bumper is solid and looks great. Install was fairly simple except for the bolts.
The bad: There was slag in the 5 of the 8 bolt holes which made getting the bolts started impossible. Ending up having to remove the bumper and use a tap to clean out the threads. One of the bolts also snapped at the head and I had to find a replacement.
Great looking bumper but be prepared to invest extra time prepping before install.
