Reviews, write ups, all sounds good, we shall see
Great Product. However was disappointed that new hardware was not provided except for one nut for each of the front shocks but no jam nut. Other than that I'm satisfied.
I’m not giving it 5 stars, yet. That’s only because I just installed these on my XJ(9/27/19). However, as soon as I switched them out with my previous shocks, the ride became a much firmer one. Roads that I have ridden on prior to installing these didn’t feel anywhere near as bad. I’m very happy with my purchase, and would highly recommend them for those who want a quality set of shocks at a reasonable price!!
good
I have had these shocks on my Jeep for about 1000 miles. At first I was very happy with the ride quality. After a few trail rides I now have a loud clunk coming from the shocks. I looked underneath while a buddy bounced the Jeep and found a good quarter inch of play in the lower rubber bushings. I could see and hear that they were causing the noise. Will be replacing them soon.
I have these on my 03 TJ. They replaced the original stock shocks which were significantly worn and essentially non-existent.
On the positive side these are: inexpensive, easy to install, and reduce some of the body roll I was experiencing in turns.
The negative is that these are super stiff. They translate every bump (regardless of size) directly through the Jeep to the driver. I would not recommend these for anyone intending to use on a daily driver - or even driving to the trailhead. I will replace with something less jarring when funds allow.
If you buy a set of these like I did last December, and installed them around March 2020 and now I need a set of the four rubber bushings used in top of front shocks because for some reason they are completely shot, Quadratec will tell you just like they did to me, they do not sell bushings alone. Their recommendation is to buy a new set of shocks, just for a maybe U$D4.00 part.-
Very funny!!
