Reviews for Spectre Performance SPE-9050 Air Intake Kit for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ with 4.0L
Have been running this for about 4 years and it works great, noticeable power bump and fits well under the hood.
Made a big difference on my 2000 TJ
Performance is 5 stars but fitment is 3 stars. Stock holes for bolting the heat shield in place caused firewall tube to be cut down at both ends about 3/8" each end. As reported on another review, the hood does contact the throttle body tube but I suspect it's because I have a TB spacer so I'll have to cut the tube down at the TB. If you're comfortable with the mods I recommend it.
2002 Jeep TJ
So far not so good. The cowl flange you bolt to your firewall way up high almost aligns with the large grounding bolt making me have to cut off one of the mounting corners for the flange in order to keep the jeep grounded. Every single clamp is tightened all the way and its not enough to clamp the rubber to the steel, it will keep falling apart because the threads on the clamps are not long enough to allow tight clamping. You will bottom out and the parts will still be loose, all of them not just one or two. But all 8. I contacted Spectre and I am still waiting for a reply. Also the clamps are pretty cheesy if you ask me.
Beautiful product, but the pipe going from the throttle body to the filter hits the hood. It's as if the bends are incorrect. Would not reccomend unless your willing to cut/modify, along with buying additional silicon couplers/bends. 2004 TJ.
