Reviews for Rugged Ridge Stubby Reflex Antenna for 97-22 Jeep Wrangler TJ, JK, JL & Gladiator JT
Fits my 2016 perfectly with great reception. Only downfall is that it came with small scuff marks. I was too lazy to exchange
I got the 15in antenna, and the tip of it is nearly level with the top of the side mirror. It's very flexible, and so now I have no worries about it getting caught in branches along the trail. This antenna is perfect for all of the reasons I bought it (durability on the trail). There are two downsides: reception distance is reduced vs. stock (obviously), and if I have the passenger window down, I can hear air whistling around the antenna at highway speeds. Don't get me wrong, the radio still works just fine, and there is no extra static when you are reasonably close to where the radio station is being transmitted, you'll just lose your station a little sooner when you head out of town.
Installed a 9" antenna and it looks fantastic. It took less than 5 minutes to install. Only con is you can immediately notice less quality in my radio stations. They come through, just not as clear as with stock antenna. I am overall pleased with the product after a couple of days. I typically stream music anyway, so radio quality is not too important. I would be willing to try the 15" instead.
Ok
Fitment wasn't to bad. Could have been a little better. But was satisfied.
Good quality
Great product! for a great price!
works well, not as good as the long stock antenna but not making a big difference to return..Chicago Market Area
Plug and play replacement antenna. Installed the 9 inch version on a 13 JK with base model radio and reception is basically the same as the stock antenna. Some of the weaker channels prior to installation are now gone but the stronger channels remain.
This antenna completely changed the look of my JLU; I couldn't be happier with the improvement of the overall appearance of my jeep compared to the factory antenna.
I installed this in less than two minutes; the supplied adapters were great.
I did lose some reception, but I honestly expected this (I'm an engineer, and if you understand ANYTHING about RF, dropping from a 36" naked antenna to a 13-14" coil that's covered will always attenuate the incoming signal's dBu strength).
Also, no issues in car wash, as it flexes VERY well.
