Reviews for QuadraTop Adventure Top S Soft Top for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited 4-Door
Bought this for my Jeep a coouple years ago. I change out my top each winter/summer. The brackets on the back that hold the back windshield broke contain a plastic piece that will break a lot during installation. Quadratec no longer provides pieces for the older version, so my only option is to buy an entire new top. I would buy at least a dozen extras or you too will have to replace your entire top eventually.
Otherwise I love the old top. It's a much better design for the driver/passanger flap that folds back.
I waited 11 months for this top. Upon arrival the box was torn and there were parts that were damaged. Only one of the parts were able to be replace without sending the entire top back, then waiting for another to be shipped out so i got a discount on the top. The top is not "easy one-handed operation" as the description says as the set screws that hold the sunrider top elbows to the bows were too large. Because of this the screws interfered with the crossbow over the front seats and the first time I flipped the top back the screws pinched the cloth between the bows and put holes in my brand new top. In order to stop this from happening you have to open the top with one hand and push the cloth back with the other. Then to close the top you have to pull out on the sunrider bow enough that the set screw clears the end of the crossbow. I also had to remove the rubber cap on both ends of the bow to make enough room for the screw to pass. Also the "tough, lightweight, aluminum frame" is made of plastic. Over all I love the aesthetics, but I'm pretty disappointed with this top especially how long I had to wait for it.
Very easy to install, but after having it for a year, the seams leak and cause it to rain on the inside of my Jeep. I take great care of the top, and am disappointed in the performance of the seams that sit on top of the speaker bar on my JKU.
Passenger front puddles. My buttons fell apart that hold the back window rolled up. It leaks but might not be the tops fault and may need new gaskets but you can see why it’s a worth 2 stars. The puddle on he passenger side is huge and will sit until I drive off so could sit for days and is obvious from inside and out. Weird it has so many good reviews and wondering if other competitors have that bad of tops or was mine just not caught by quality control
I bought this top last July but didn't get around to installing it until this June. After only one week both sunroof hold-down buckles broke. These buckles hold the sunroof closed while driving. Needless to say, it is a huge issue. Since I bought it last July I am. not even sure if it is covered under warranty. Also, the rear side window panels keep coming loose from the provided plastic window mullion trim. Very annoying and not happy since this was an expensive top.
The top looked great once I installed it. There were no issues with leaks, and the sunrider feature worked well. I liked how it folded back neatly.
I had 2 big complaints:
1. This top is absurdly noisy on the highway. It was so loud that it sounded like I had the windows cracked. There was a gap at the front corners of top that I could slide my fingers through
2. A few of the snaps broke during installation. For $700, I expected better quality.
Quadratec took care of me when I told them about my issues. They sent me a Bestop Trektop NX, and it works really well - Better quality and much quieter on the highway.
The second time I put this on my jeep, the zipper broke off on one of the back windows. I like the top itself. The instructions aren't that great. I think some of the steps were backwards. As I had to remove certain parts in order to assemble the next part. And probably missing some steps. It's a bit difficult to put on precisely.
Pros: The design is perfect for me. I get more open air from being able to flip the top back from inside. The rear window is easy to roll up with the elastic snapping straps. The side windows are also easy to get on and off. Cons: I had to get a replacement for the first top because it leaked at the seem going across the top. Customer service was great though and replaced it right away. So now the second top leaks as well, but not as bad as the first top. Do I try and replace it again? Or do I keep the less leaky top. If not for the leaks, I would rate this a 5 star.
Pros: Great looking top with a large number of configuration options to meet any weather. Cons: * Poor fitment. -Back corners can come disconnected in windows down or doors off driving. -Gap between right rear door and top. Can see daylight between door seal and top. Door seals are new so that isnt the issue. Water entry is likely. * Fold back top area sags and collects water. When a door is opened, that water runs down into the vehicle. Some sort of bracing would be preferred similar to provided sound bar to rear window braces. * Brackets provided for rear window bar to tailgate are flimsy and cracked in a short amount of time. Replacement parts are available however. Cant really recommend this top. There are better options out there.
Used it for a few months, for a JK 4door, and it felt as if it was too small. I tried adjusting it and found myself with a gap either on the top or bottom of the back. I recommend if ever redesigned to give more slack on the fabric.
