Reviews for QuadraTop Adventure Top S Soft Top for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited
I have had this top installed for two years. There are a few things that I have had issues with. First, no matter how much I let the product stretch in the sun the passenger window wants to roll out of the channel and begins to slip out from behind the door. I have to keep a constant eye on it and tuck it back in, but it is very frustrating that I have to do this all of the time, especially on longer trips. Second, the zipper at the top left of the rear plastic is beginning to tear out from the stitching. I would understand the wear and tear aspect, but I paid $700 for something is supposed to last me much longer than two years. Third, the glue has begun to deteriorate for the velcro strips that run to hold the front side flaps down. Additionally, the velcro itself continues to peel up, especially with rain puddling on top. This is not a critical failure point, however, because there still aren't any leaks from the top. It's just annoying that I have to keep pulling it down and re-seating it when I look up and find it (around the same time that I check on the rear window issue. Overall, I like the product design, especially the flip top at the front. Opening and closing up without having to leave my seat is VERY convenient. I wish this idea could be developed into use with the factory style squared soft top. One thing I didn't consider when purchasing is how much cargo space is lost when the top comes down the rear sport bars. If you're okay with finding other storage options for camping, or beach, gear then it won't be a problem, however. The versatility of changing between three styles of running a top is awesome. Lastly, unlike the factory soft top, there is no leaking inside the vehicle, which is nice. The fit needs a little work and perhaps a final check for durability of stitching, but, overall, I really like this product.
Love the soft top so far. It was very time consuming to put together and I didn't like that I had to remove the factory latches in order for this one to work. There are a few spots with gaps above passenger and driver door, not sure if that needs time to stretch or not. But over all, I am pretty satisfied so far.
So let me start out with saying that I do love the QuadraTop Adventure Top S. I bought it for my 2016 JKU back in December of 2017 after my wife opened the rear vinyl window to put some things in the back of my Jeep and with the frigid temperatures at the time, the rear window just snapped along where she had tried to fold it back (we live in Germany for the time being). Now it seems that I have run into the same problem with the Adventure Top S. I went to put groceries in the back and went to fold up the rear window on the Adventure Top S and right after I folded it back down to zip it up and I noticed a small amount of light coming through the window from a small crack that wasn't there before. I'm not sure if it's my bad luck with cold and soft tops right now or if it's something else. All things considered I like the Adventure Top S but a disclaimer in the instructions about caution with cold weather might be warranted. Also, I think it needs a little bit of testing in colder weather to improve the functionality in the colder parts of the world.
I've had the top installed for about 5 months now. Installation was fairly easy and took me about 3 hours with no help. I don't think I'm interested in switching it out with my hard top week to week, though. We've had plenty of rain over the summer and my top has leaked exactly ZERO times! Sometimes the rain water ponds on the roof so be careful when you open a door! The fold back feature is awesome! Takes all of 15 seconds to do. My only real complaint is that the side panels don't always stay tucked in behind the door frame and can get caught in the slipstream and become an air scoop for hot outside air when the window are up. Good purchase.
I love this top!!! Although I thought the directions could use a lot more clarity. That's the only reason it gets a 4 star. Otherwise it would be 5. Everything else is great!!! So easy to use now that's it's been on for a month!! I love the versatility of this top. Highly recommended!!!!
Like many of the other reviews the top would get a 5 star rating for me if not for the 3 steps forward, 1step back instruction booklet. Took me 3-3 1/2 hours to install, let all the fabric pieces set on in the sun during hardware assembly and installation, were really really hot to handle by the time to install, stretching was at a minimum and made it so easy to use the tension clamps to tighten it properly. Very happy how the top looks, and fits, took it to car wash immediately after install to check for water leaks, had none, interior bone dry. I'm suggest take your time, pre read instruction book and just breath, well worth it in the end.
Top looks great and seems to function well (only one road trip so far). Directions are not very clear though and could be improved.
Top is great! Last couple reviews talk about road noise but they are nuts. Put your 2 front windows down a crack; that's exactly as much "road" noise there is which is nothing. Top doesn't flap, fits awesome, & looks amazing. So far no water in my Jeep after 3 days of on & off rain. The instructions do stink but once you figure it out, it's easy. I couldn't get the zippers to close all the way first time but let her sit 24 hours and tried again in full sun and they closed right up. I would recommend this top to my friends & family. I love it!! I also plan to put my hardtop back on in the winter because this isn't an all season top in my opinion. Get a twill one if you wanna go all year round in winter conditions
Versatile top, provides many options for coverage while being easy to change while out on the road. Rather loud while driving at highway speeds
Looks great and the fold back sunroof is fantastic. Very quick and easy to flip back. The only issue is that the top is a little loud on the highway with wind noise.
