Reviews for Smittybilt 76724 SRC Gen2 Front Bumper for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Good, solid bumper. Lots of places to put lighting, and the factory fogs from the old bumper fit in place nicely. The Smittybilt winch fit perfectly. The finish is good, and very tough. A great product.
Works and fits great, only 4 stars because everything has room for improvement
Very nice, solid and rugged bumper for the price. I am quite happy with it.
Lets start with I love how this bumper looks. It is sturdy and solid. However, the instructions provided were not the greatest and I had to do some minor cutting and grinding of the jeeps frame to fit a Quadratec Q9500is Stealth Winch to fit right. The motor stuck out a half inch too far and kept hitting the frame trying to get it installed. Not a big deal if you have the tools, but an issue none the less. Overall still very please though!
Loved the XRC for my 2016 2 door, traded it in for a 2018 4 door Oscar Mike for back windows for my dogs to stick their heads out. My Oscar Mike came with AEV rock rails, so I decided to get the SRC to have the tubular corners to match the rock rails. Few issues with it, one the fog light mount was not on correctly as for the fairlead nut with the washer flat area attached to the nut fit perfect on one side and would not come close to fitting on the other side, not a huge deal just used another regular nut with some blue loc-tite on it so it can’t back out thru vibration, I hope. The second issue because to fog light mount is not attached like the other one my fog lights don’t match that one sits in a lot further, not a big deal it seems to light up the area it needs to. The third and biggest issue is quality control for the aforementioned problems and once I got a winch attached, hawes fairlead, and bumper all attached together and to my Jeep to the specs I take off the d ring/off road jack mounting plastic covers, and find that the drivers side was not deburred in the off road jack point and has sharp metal edges all around it, smittybilt said they only thing they could do is send me touch up paint and for me to debur it myself. I know it’s a 500 cheap Chinese bumper but it was 500 and I got to fix your issues. Very disappointing that’s all they were willing to do but I did say I didn’t want to remove it or try shipping it freight and repacking it in the new bumpers box, I was hoping they would do something to make it right, but they didn’t.
Bumper was great once installed. Really like the skid below the bumper as it has been used several times with rocks and nice having that protection down low. Was a bear to install. Fit was extremely poor. Had to grind out the slots for the outer bolts and 3 of the welded nuts had burrs in them that required them to be drilled and tapped.
