Reviews for Smittybilt 76724 SRC Gen2 Front Bumper for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
As with all things Smittybilt the directions are next to worthless but the installation is very simple and the bumper seems to be good quality. If you are adding a winch be sure to install the winch first before installing the bumper to make your life easier. Overall I am happy with product and would buy it again.
The bumper came in perfect condition - shipper was A Duie Pyle. The Quadratec staffers were great - answered all my questions and streamlined the ordering process. I've seen feedback where the directions from Smittybilt had been negatively reviewed. To the contrary, I found them along with the entire install, to be straightforward and pretty self explanatory. I noticed my factory bumper mount plates were already drilled to about 9/16 in diameter so I did not have to drill as directed in the instructions. I also did not have to drill the lower cross member as the holes already in the lower section of the bumper lined up perfectly. The bumper's welded mounting studs went perfectly into the jeep's mount plate holes - these were the two holes on the inside of the OEM fog lamps, one on top and one below, and were easily snugged down with the provided nylock nuts. The two outer holes on the jeep's mount plates - these were the ones that you inserted bolts and fender washers through and screwed them into the bumper, were lined up on the driver side perfectly. Those same holes on the passenger side were not lined up - the bumper was about 1/8 too low. Instead of removing the bumper to drill them out a bit bigger, I chose to just get a 2x4 and my floor jack and lifted the bumper by the loops at the end just enough to get the bolts started. Torqued it all down and dropped the jeep back down and the fit was level. This is a very stout bumper and the look is awesome. I plan to mount my old Warn xD9000i winch in the coming weeks. Very pleased with this product, the price and the ease of installation. Thank you Quadratec.
This bumper is a beast! Very heavy duty. Instructions left something to be desired but nothing some YouTube videos and common sense couldn’t over come. Instructions say to widen holes to 1/2”, but I’d suggest 5/16” to provide a little more maneuverability when getting the outside bolts to line up with the holes (had to take the bumper off twice in order to widen the holes to get them to line up). Also wish there was a little coverage for the fog light wires and reservoir. Outside of those minor things, it’s an awesome product and I’d highly suggest it if you’re looking for a full length beefy bumper, I’d highly suggest it.
Love it love it love it. Purchased the matching rear bumper and now that its all installed, I now have a proper jeep. One thing of note, you cant get the grill off now without loosening or removing the bumper. So if you are going to upgrade headlights or anything requiring you to remove the grill, doo eet before you install front bumper.
Very heavy duty and sets your Jeep apart from all the other ones on the road.
I just installed this bumper on my JK and it Is solid and looks great. Installation was straightforward although the instructions could be a little better. Packaging was excellent and the finish was perfect. I did not need to drill out the holes in the frame as called out in the instructions.
Works well so far. Didn't have to relocate pump. Finish is great.
Love it! Easy Install (with some help).
I've had this on my Jeep for about a year now. It's an excellent bumper. The finish still looks great. I've smashed it into rocks and into a dirt embankment and it didn't bend. Plus I've actually lifted the whole Jeep using a high-lift under one of the bars on the end. I couldn't be happier.
Just put my Smittybilt SRC gen 2 on my Jeep. It is a heavy duty bumper. It looks great on my Jeep. I installed a Smittybilt winch with the bumper, that fit great. The bumper sits the winch down low so it looks awesome.
The instructions aren't great, so leave yourself a couple hours, but it was pretty straight forward. Everything lined up perfectly.
