Reviews for Rugged Ridge 11025.18 Rectangular Quick Release Mirror Kit in Textured Black for 97-18 Jeep Wrangler TJ & JK
Extremely, extremely disappointed!
I haven’t had any whistling or unacceptable shaking like some others have had.
What I do have, however, is a completely useless driver-side mirror that is only good for seeing my back seat. I have the mirror rotated as far out as possible and cannot even see the back corner of my (2dr) Wrangler. Wtf?
I am 6’2, do NOT have my seat pushed all the way back and do not recline my seat-back but for a few degrees. There is no acceptable explanation for this other than atrocious product engineering OR flawed production.
This is a stupid question, but giving you the benefit of doubt…I am ACTUALLY supposed to be able to see the road behind/adjacent to me like a normal mirror, correct? I’m just surprised that in all of the product reviews I read that this was never written about.
Please advise ASAP as I’m pretty annoyed.
Normally Rugged Ridge products are great - but this mirror set falls far below their typically good quality products for a very reasonable price. Installed them on the Jeep and hand tightened the screw knob as tight as I could get it without using tools. Drove down the road at 45mph and the mirrors were pushed in by the air movement. Stopped in a parking lot, readjusted the mirrors - and again - tightened them by hand as much as physically possible without the use of tools (as the head of the screw is a plastic 4-point had knob) and again the air movement blew them into the Jeep and made them worthless for seeing vehicles behind me. In order to make these work (stay in place) – I had to force rubber washer in between mirror bracket and the assembly and then use a pair of channel-locks to physically tighten this ‘plastic head’ beyond anything that could have been done by hand. Spend your $$ on something better as these are not worth using for the money you can spend.
These mirrors are OK. Too much whistling and my wife said it feels like you're looking into a "Barbie Jeep" mirror. Don't adjust and hold well either.
These are absolutely terrible mirrors. I bought them to be legal with my doors off, but I also wanted usable side view mirrors. Unfortunately, one is completely unusable as it flops around like a bobblehead, so I had to glue it in place. Both bolts that connect the mounts to the A-pillar rusted within minutes of being taken out of the box, the bolts that go through the mount rusted after one day, and the joints on the back of the mirrors where the arm meets the mirror housing, although supposedly stainless steel, both rusted within a week of being installed. These mirrors are pretty expensive for something that lasted less than month before I'm throwing them in the trash.
Terrible product. Do not waste your time. Very cheaply made. Mount will not tighten. Mirror bolt broke on install.
These are awful and super cheap. I took them off after two days.
Can't see the passenger mirror with sliding uppers on. The mirror arm is too short. Took them off immediately, mounted factory mirrors back on the doors.
