Reviews for Quadratec Automatic Billet Aluminum Mirror Movers for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
If you would like a powered mirror relocation option this is the one you want. My wife and I put these on her jeep a about a week ago. The instructions are easy to follow. (Watch the video if you are unfamiliar with removing your door panels). These took my wife and I a little over 1 hour to install the pair. The included wiring harness makes the install a breeze. I recommend taking the time to adjust the tension on the arms. Out of the box they were tightened down too much and had limited range of motion. With some minor adjustments (Which are covered in the instructions) the mirrors had the proper range of motion and operation. The location of the mirrors is perfect for doors on or off the jeep. There are no 'blind spots' created by the door frame when the doors are on.
I did have the non-powered mirror movers before and I had the same vibration issues that others have reported. These mirrors seem to be of similar quality to the factory mirrors. There is no whistling. There is a slight vibration when driving at highway speeds but it is minimal and does not effect the drivers ability to use the mirrors. This slight vibration is the only reason that I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5.
I would recommend these mirrors to anyone that would like the same functionality as the factory power/heated mirrors but the flexibility to remove the doors.
Great mirrors for when the doors are off.
So far so good, I have motobilt brackets on windshield so I had to grind the metal down on the back of the brackets so the mirror bracket would fit snug.
Mirrors installed very easily and allow nearly the same field of vision as factory. My only issue is that the springs don't move the mirrors back to their resting position very quickly after the doors are shut (sometimes they don't get all the way back without help). All in all a quality product; I just would have expected the springs to work more effectively in returning the mirrors to resting position, considering how much more force it takes to open the doors with these installed.
So far so good, they are very slow returning to the proper position
First thing is to take off your OEM mirrors before installing the quadratec door blank and put them on the Quadratec arms use the screw that holds the quadratec mirrors to reinstall your OEM mirrors. it might be a little tough to get the OEM mirror out of the door bracket so use some WD-40 to loosen it up. The Quadratec mirrors are like circus fun house mirrors. I think it is a little to much money for just the aluminum brackets but now I don't have to install my old mirror when I take the doors off. Wish that Quadratec would just sell the door blank and the arms, no mirrors.
They work, however, the mirrors either wobble slightly (because the swivel screws arent tight enough), or don't close all the way to the door (because the swivel screws are too tight) -- was very annoying to try and find that sweet spot (I eventually gave up and removed the mirrors). Also, the power cable runs through the joint that swivels. While messing with tightening and loosening the bolt, it was annoying having to avoid (move around) the cable (didn't want to pinch it and ruin it). They work great when the doors are off, but kinda suck when the doors are on as the screws would either tighten or loosen themselves over time and would have to be adjusted. The concept is great, the design kinda sucks.
Good mirrors and great for door on or off driving. Passenger mirror doesn’t have a large enough stop on the billet that fills the stock hole on the door. This has caused the bottom left edge of the mirror to scratch and rub the paint off. So far, customer service sent me a supposed fix after about a year of having the mirrors on. Initially, the fix worked, I even used two of the foam vibration spacers. However, I’m now back to the mirror resting on the door when opening and further rubbing off the paint.
These are the best solution to the doors off mirror problem. The keep the mirrors in the same spot as factory regardless if doors are on or off. I would have given this 5 stars, but one of the springs that returns the mirror head to its position broke and Quadratec doesn’t sell or stock or offer parts kits for these mirrors.
Love these mirrors but my knees and shins hate them. The door will never stay open.
