Reviews for Quadratec Automatic Billet Aluminum Mirror Movers for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Bought these manual mirrors for my RHD 2008 2-Door JK hoping that I could swap the mirror glass between the head sets so that the convex mirror is on the passenger side (left). Though the two sides are not quite the same shape, I was able to successfully snap each glass plate out and back into the opposite side. This was the longest part of the install to make sure I didn’t break any tabs. These mirror plates connect using the later 2011-18 round style with 4 tabs, not the original 2007-10 square ones with 2 tabs and 2 hooks.
Separate note, I cannot use the head set detents. I have to turn the left mirror head set a bit inward and the right side (driver) mirror headset further outward to get the proper mirror angles. This may be related to the RHD set up. Too bad they can’t have 2-3 different detents to set the head set angle.
Finally, the mirrors work well on initial install. There is some vibration on the driver’s side (right) but still well useable. Passenger side visibility is great. They seem to hold position even at highway speeds for now. I’ll see with time if they hold position.
The placement of the product.
Great design which will allow us to drive with or without doors attached. Only aspect we hadn't considered is that these are spring-loaded so doors won't stay open.
A sturdy mount that can be used with or without the doors. With the other style of relocation bracket I could only use it on the driver's side so without the doors I didn't have a passenger's side mirror. That is legal but having the mirror gives better view than looking over my shoulder.
Just put them on. Love the mirrors. They work exactly like they’re supposed to. As a mechanically Inept person it took about 5 hours. Worth every minute.
Great product only problem is a short in the driver side I can't seem to find. Defeats the perpose.
Been using these for over a year now. They work great, and have full capabilities for power movement and heat. Taking the doors off goes much quicker, and the mirror is better than the removable ones I had previously been using when the doors were off. I also just bought the bestop core doors and these work great with some delete plates. Removed one star because the cable for passenger side seemed a hair short with the routing suggested. Also, the passenger mirror contacts the door (paint) ever so slightly when opening. Still recommend this highly!
Admittedly I love these; however, I have Mopar half doors with slider windows in front and the passenger side window frame catches the mirror. I submitted a photo of it. I'm not sure how to correct the issue without a bump/mirror stop filler plate that goes out a little further to catch the mirror.
Easy install, and although I love the idea of these mirrors, I'm only giving 4 stars as the driver's side (left side) mirror shakes when driving; the passenger side does not. I've set the return spring tension per the instructions, but this left side continues to shake while the Jeep is moving. The shaking isn't to the point the mirror isn't usable, but it's bad enough that I can tell a dark vehicle is behind me, but could never tell what the vehicle actually is... If there's a way to correct this vibration, please share!
I like being able to remove the doors without messing with putting on different mirrors and messing with adjusting them. only bad part is they put spring in the doors to push them shut when trying to exit but oh well you get used to it. also I have ventvisors on my windows and they rub on the mirrors before the bump starts to move the mirror.
