Rack is very well made. Bags are lighter but should work.

It was as promised...pretty basic!

Note that you can not open the back gate with this installed. I should have probably realized this before I purchased, but it didn't even cross my mind. If that's okay with you, you'll probably be happy with this. It is easy to assemble, and seems sturdy.

As designed, this rack will not allow you to open the gate on JLU. If you turn the bar that goes into the receiver over, you can just barely clear the rear tire. Even then, it angles down a bit. We just use it for beach gear like chairs and umbrellas. Wish I had gotten a roof basket now. Seems sturdy and well built, though. I wish had thought more about the logic of it.

Rack itself is good enough. I will need an extension to clear a 37 inch tire. The wire mesh portion of the rack was dented pretty good, probably during shipping. it bent back but isn't perfect.

You can’t open the back gate with the Jeep Altitude which has 18” tires.
