As much as we love our Jeeps, the limited rear cargo space is sometimes inadequate. A Quadratec Receiver Hitch Cargo Rack is an excellent solution. The simple convenience of adding additional payload when you need it makes these handy units indispensable. Fits into any 2" receiver hitch tube to provide instant storage for camping gear, luggage, hunting trophies, gardening materials, coolers and perhaps this years Christmas tree. Quadratec's receiver hitch cargo racks make easy hauling for nasty, dirty stuff like this week's trash, greasy car parts, sacks of concrete and bags of mulch. All without making a mess of the inside of your vehicle. Our cargo racks are designed for a Class II receiver hitch and are rated to hold up to 300lbs cargo capacity but may be limited by a lesser vehicle or hitch capacity rating. These are a great value for those needing a basic cargo rack that is optimized for Jeep applications. The Jumbo basket measures 60"L x 24"W floor with 6' tall sides. When installed, the rack will limit how far the tailgate can open.

Quadratec Jumbo Cargo Rack Reviews
I’m always needing a little extra space in my Jeep. The rear cargo space can feel a bit cramped, especially on big trips. The Quadratec Receiver Hitch Cargo Rack has been a game-changer for me. It’s an incredibly practical solution for those times when I need a little extra room for gear. This hitch basket is perfect for hauling everything from camping gear and luggage and it’s also ideal for dirty or greasy items. This is a must have and I highly recommend it.
The title covers most of it. I was originally looking for a folding rear cargo basket, but I kept reading about how the folding joint was the weakest part and often where such carriers would break after a while. I also wanted a screen-style bottom, but most of the other brands spot-welded the screens to the bottom edge of the floor beams on the frame, which meant those spot welds would be carrying the entire weight of whatever I loaded causing the screens to break. Given various size options, 60” by 24” was nearly ideal for carrying smaller bails of hay. I was mixed on aluminum vs steel with a powder coat, but steel won. Finally, I wanted the highest weight rating I could find and a 5-degree up-tilt with the ability to have the platform slightly raised from the vehicle.
This Quadratec was most of what I wanted. Maybe everything, actually, since I eventually no longer wanted the folding element. This carrier is awesome and heavy duty. The item arrived in a beaten box and the unit itself had some scuffs and chips, but nothing that was a deal breaker for me. The unit’s end cap was already in place and had addition scuffing, so I assumed it was a return. The instructions included placing the end cap as the finishing touch. Usually, that annoys me, but even with slight cosmetic damage, this carrier was far superior to any others I’d reviewed.
As another review noted, it’s HEAVY. Yes, it is. Hollow tubes, sure, but thick and sturdy. The weight of the unit (accompanied by free shipping) is what sold me. Sixty plus pounds vs 30 or 40 for other carriers suggested quality. I'll be moving it around with a dolly, but that’s fine. It’s a great carrier for larger, heavier vehicles like our Sequoia. It might be a bit much for our Crosstrek. Maybe the smaller folding Quadratec for the Subie.
In some of the other reviews on the Quadretec website, the unit is shown as mounted lower instead of higher and the carrier was tilted down away from the vehicle. I was worried it might have been bent from weight. It wasn’t. If you mount it on the main bar to sit lower than your vehicle, it’ll have a 5 degree tilt down. Just FYI.
Lastly, while this carrier is rated for 300lbs, that’s probably accurate. Many other carriers that stated they could hold 500lbs or more also had lots of reviews saying that was inaccurate and that those other carriers broke. So, Quadratec for the win!
Great value
