Reviews for Rugged Ridge Dash Multi-Mount Phone Kit for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Great idea, bad execution. There is a flimsy piece of plastic inside each of the rubber "arms" that hold your phone. These broke in less than a year, rendering the holder useless. The arms are shallow as well so that my iPhone 6 would pop out easily even with a fairly thin case on it.
I have the same problems as other posts for my iPhone popping out over pot holes or rough terrain. Something that may help reduce the pop out: after inserting your phone into the grips, move the holster up, shove something semi-firm like a folded washcloth or an interior window/dash wiper, and push the holder back down into the material. It’s not 100%, but it stops mild bumps popping the phone out. Major bounces will knock it out regardless. The grip and positioning are right, but the soft rubber clamps are useless and allow it to fly out, usually at the driver during a moment that you want your eyes on the road. Unfortunately, it’s the only thing on the market like this design.
Wish I hadn't, doesn't stay snapped into the dash. This is the second product that I've ordered with the Rugged Ridge name on it and it will be my last. The first was the hood catch and bracket kit. The metal pins started to show rust within the first six weeks they were on the jeep. These parts are not cheap to purchase but seem cheaply made. Thanks for your time.
This lasted from 3/2017 until 7/2018 before it broke. it was good while it lasted.
Couldn't get it to clip in place.
It will not stay installed. The tabs keep popping out. Other than that I love it I just need to figure out how to keep it from popping out
I love the idea of this, but it broke pretty quickly. The bracket that screws down to the ball cracked and cause the holder to not keep my iphone in place. There is a reason why they sell spare parts for it.
Love the idea and look of this product. The problem I have is with the phone holder. The side that clamp on to the phone are too flexable and when I hit a bump the phone goes flying. scratch up my dash a little. It holds my dash came great. I even ran my charging wires for phone and camera in dash and drilled a little hole in this to keep the wires hidden as much as possible. Looks good.
Also, one of the rubber ears (that hold the phone has broken in half so I can't even put my phone in it anymore. I have had this about 2 month. I guess I will see if I can find something to screw into the phone base that will hold my phone/
Better phone holder and this would be a 5 star.
If you have a wider ph it's both a pain to get it into the "grippper" and it slips out too easily and like others said too, it vibrates too much...not a fan
A clear "don't buy", have had two of them both brock the holder patch on the fixed side, replacement available but did not fix the weakness of the design, don#t spend your money at all. Totally dissatisfied, if zero would be an option, zero would be the right rating
